Let me make my final point; if the amount of Military check points that are mounted in the Southeast and the imminent proposed aerial bombardment of Imo State, in order to fish out the so-called IPOB and ESN members, who they are purposely being accused of being the Unknown Gunmen, were mounted in States like, Kebbi, Jigawa and Zamfara, would there be any kidnaping, displacement of village farmers and cases of IDPs, in those Zones or anywhere, in NIgeria? How many villages have ever been bombarded and citizens massacred, in the North, as a result of soldiers being killed, Boko Haram, Bandits or criminals, organized or otherwise? We dont have respect for the rule of law in this country. It is the responsibility of the inspector General of police and commissioner of police to investigate and arrest persons responsible for the murder of the military personnel not soldiers; its not within their jurisdiction to be honest. Can the military defend itself, yes but beyond a state of emergency declared by the president or the outbreak of a international conflict or an internal conflict where the president has by an order directed their intervention, the military lacks the powers to arrest and detain citizens. If they possess the tactical and technological prowess to carry out investigations then they must work with the police to track down civil offenders, and when they arrest any offender that person must be handed over to the Nigerian police.
