Really appreciate this devotion today .....I practise the lukumi tradition and I remember when I was "on the mat" of my initiation one night I prayed to Esu asking him to allow me to learn Spanish and the Lukumi language if im to make sense of this culture and I pushed myself for 5 years being in Cuba and submersing myself with the language to the point now I speak it fluently and it has helped me a great deal with understanding the tradition as my lineage practises it ....my urge now is to go even further and explore the original ie being the continent and a willingness to do the same thing ....saying all that to say I don't believe what your saying is true ......I know it is ! ....blessing be unto you my brother 🙏

Ase. These dawnings have really brought out so much filth from me. It is VITAL to learn with your house or community. We will get so lost and create a lot of chaos within our lives if we don't actually devote ourselves to the practice and the respect we need to give to work with the energies we choose to work with. Even if our intentions are good, even if we have learned the basics of how to, for instance give honor to esu, oggun or any orisa we have received, it means much less if its not practiced fully and whole heartedly. Not letting the ego trick us into thinking we are doing it right from having gotten very basic info on the subject and walking away from our Teachers and Elders thinking "I got this". Give thanks!
