You may already know about Affirmations -- positive statements to change our beliefs -- but have you heard about Afformations? Afformations take Affirmations and spin them around to be Positive Questions instead of Positive Statements. So, why are Afformations so powerful? Your brain is wired to SOLVE PROBLEMS. Every time you ask a question, some parts of your brain set to work to find a solution to the question you asked. When you ask positively voiced questions, your brain will look for evidence that the question represents a truthful scenario.
You can use Afformations on their own or mix and match Afformations with Affirmations. A key part of any Affirmations or Afformations strategy is REPETITION! The more you repeat your positive statements and questions, the more energy your brain will expend in rewiring your belief system.

The areas of my life where I struggled using affirmations, are the same areas where I struggle using afformations. Afformations are likely better, but they aren't a miracle cure like everyone suggests.

I completely agree that they aren't a silver bullet. I think that Afformations are essentially just another tool in the kit that we can employ to lesser or greater effect depending upon our particular wiring. Certainly, there will be a percentage of people who wind up being blown away by their effectiveness. Likewise, there will be people for whom the technique isn't worth revisiting. In the middle, however, would be the bell curve wherein the techniques are a useful ally to visit on a regular program of self-healing and self-improvement.

Isnt daydreaming the same thing as visualizing your goal?😊

Hi, Terry. Great question! I think daydreaming is close to the same thing. The difference is in the quality of the daydream, i.e., whether it is focused enough to elicit positive emotions for a significant time. Just idly daydreaming could end up being a waste of time. I think it's important to approach it consciously with the intention of holding positive thoughts and thereby generating strong positive emotions. Of course, that doesn't finish our work. Our task afterward is to pay attention to the world around us as the universe brings opportunities to us that may take us in the direction of attaining our goals. And then working with those opportunities as the baby steps we need to get from here to there.

@@LivingIntentionally thank you for quick response from you. in regards to your last paragraph, isn't it the same as "Confirmation Bias?" Believing something to be true, then looking for evidence for it? I was told it was.

@@terrycraig6386 I consider confirmation bias to be a tendency to prefer/seek out information that supports our existing beliefs. This isn't the same thing as visualization or the basis of Law of Attraction as the latter are attempts to use patterns of thought to help _create_ a reality that we wish to experience. Rather than a cognitive bias that affirms our belief system, the effort attempts to create a reality that conforms to a desired outcome. For example, consider an athlete training for a major competition. In their preparation they may use VMBR (Visuo-Motor Behaviour Rehearsal) in visualization of their competition. Part of this training exercise is seeing a _successful_ outcome. The more deeply the visualization, including imagining physical motion in addition to strategic decisions, the more likely the person will help to create that successful outcome. As for the last paragraph, I'd probably be more likely to call it synergy. Part of the job of manifesting is to be open to and take notice of opportunities that come to us by way of our visualizations. Our conscious work with Affirmations, Afformations and focused daydreaming will begin to urge the universe to bring opportunity to us. First, we have to notice it. Second, we have to _act_ upon it. I use synergy here in the classical sense of the word, where the cooperative interaction is between Source and the individual to create something greater.

Daydreaming and meditation would help, sure. But what I wonder is how those few subliminal makers out there, the few that make subliminals that give excellent results, do so without requiring their listeners to daydream and meditate?
@LivingIntentionally
@LivingIntentionally Жыл бұрын
It's been my experience with subliminal messaging that the recipient merely need to be paying attention to see short-term effects. Even without much attention, however, subliminal messaging can be surprisingly effective with only increased repetition. This is why, for example, subliminal advertising in commercials is heavily regulated and disallowed on public television. While the conscious mind may not even register the message, the subconscious mind catches it all. That last bit is one of the reasons why an operator of a hypnotherapy session must be so careful with wording: The subconscious mind is utterly literal and does not register negation.
