The whole experience for me is getting the whole thing right at the same time, Throttle, gear, clutch, you just know when it's right and YOU did it

Very true, that is lots of fun. There are times when it's just good to relax and enjoy the scenery

I have always ridden manual. I had a 1200x crosstourer manual and changed to a dct crosstourer . It’s superb and would find it hard to revert to a manual again. Other manufacturers should add this to their machines.

I also agree, as tech progressed why can't we ! I don't know if I would go back to the manual.

Is what you say at 8:20 true? I drive an 2022 AT DCT and it definately change gears in cornes, both up and down. Not a big problem but driving in "D" is sometimes anoying when having to drive slow in a roundabout. For some reason it just have to change gear when you least want it. I belive they have improved this on the 2024 modell though.

Most time it does not shift in a lean, trying to think if there was a time when I was in the middle of a corner and it shifted. I can't think of a time. But I've only had it for just over a year and I only have 13,000 plus miles on it so I can only tell you from my limited experience. And yes, I think they changed a few things on the 2024. Thanks for the comments. I really appreciate it. Keep riding!!

I like it a lot in my car but for a bike a quick shifter makes more sense to me.
@advbull8 ай бұрын
That is another great option, I can agree the quick shifter is super nice

As a truck driver, the ability to finesse a motorcycle clutch is amazing.

Quick shifters on road bikes make absolutely no sense to me.

And note: the more you open the throttle the longer it holds a gear before changing.

Sure thing. I’m in Ocala. I’d love to know a name for this area or road name so I could check it out. I ride a Honda Transalp and a DRZ 400 presently but really thinking about an Africa Twin DCT standard.

I do many WMA's near Brevard and towards Orlando. Bull Creek, Three lakes. tosohatchee wildlife Management area and there's also a lot of riding over towards Titusville... Still would love to go to Ocala but I suck in sand !!

Does Africa Twin really have low-speed crawling function? how to engage it? I know the Goldwing have this function, but never heard Africa Twin have it, or is it only exist on 2024 new model?
@advbull8 ай бұрын
Not on the 2022, I think it may be a 2024 upgrade

NO IT"S FOR PEOPLE THAT DON"T KNOW HOW TO RIDE JUST LIKE AN AUTOMATIC IN A CAR IS FOR PEOPLE THAT DON"T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE

No it’s just different, and in some instances, like riding slowly, it’s more difficult than a manual.

Can still shift but with paddle shifters, and I agree it can be a little more difficult/different riding at slow speeds, just need to control with the rear brake and blipping the throttle. Same ride just not burning a clutch or stalling and not stalling going up a hill is a good thing. But I agree, shifting and clutch control is great also, that is why they make both styles.

A woodie? 😂🤣

100% right, it is actually harder at slow speeds and technical stuff, at least for me ! And not to mention no safety by pulling in a clutch in the event of a whiskey throttle. Ahhh been there did that !
