As far as information available out there, it's not a "me too" incident. She clashed with Tommy Lee Jones and the studio wanted to recapture the dynamic between him and Wil Smith from the first movie so they sided with him. As far as her overall career, "Jade" and "Unforgettable" didn't set the box office ablaze back in 1996 and it made her radioactive much like Taylor Kitsch in the early to mid 2010s. Per Kevin Smith calling her "difficult to work with", he has since apologized to her after his major heart attack as she, surprisingly, is one of the people that actually reached out to him and see how he was doing.

So that, plus Barry Sonnenfeld is a bit of a strange duck (read into that what you will), and what we know was going on with guys like Weinstein (who I wouldn't wager was alone in that) at the time and there's any number of possibilities as to what went wrong. I think she was a victim of Harvey Weinstein, along with many 90s starlets who somehow just disappeared like Mira Sorvino, Rosanne Arquette, and Annabella Scorria. @latayesha Tommy Lee Jones is a made man in Hollywood after toiling for years as a character actor (anybody remember him playing second fiddle to Gary Busey in a Steven Seagal movie - "Under Siege"?); and has a reputation for being difficult to work with ever since he won his Oscar for "The Fugitive". That opened the door to him making more money with his roles in "Men In Black" and "Batman Forever" where he gave Jim Carrey all kinds of grief while on set simply because he didn't like him. So, if he suggested the same concerning Linda Florentino being hard to work with, I would have a hard time believing him since he has no credibility.

As much as I liked the franchise, this is getting into alternative universe shenanigans. If the writers had changed the dynamic, perhaps the performance of the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th movies would have changed or not.

MiB was the only good one. All the sequels were abysmal and unnecessary cash grabs. The scripts were lousy and the plots were ridiculous.

What is sad... Is like for Kingsman : they had an opportunity to have a great female character. But no. Just an example of movies that buil a female character tu just kill it in a few seconds or off screen.

Have you seen her acting in Dogma? She's a terrible actress! The same tone as in MiB.
