AI is a great technology that should be introduced slowly at a pace where those whose jobs it will replace have a chance to transition to other jobs. at the same time, a slower pace would also allow creation of newer jobs related to AI

I think it all depends on who, or what kind of workers you're talking to, doesn't it? Not everyone is creative, not every worker is highly educated. In time, un-regulated AI will be able to take over the mundane tasks of everyday work, manual repetitive jobs etc. Then what can we do for human workers who are in these jobs? Most of them are in these jobs because they can't do work that requires higher levels of knowledge and education etc. Like I said, not everyone can be a scientist or lecturer or engineer or creative designer etc. How can we ensure that these workers can still find work that will provide them with at least the same level of living that their previous job, now performed by AI, accorded them? A lot of technological disruptions in recent decades have put groups of workers out of work not just in their industry that was disrupted, but also put them in a place where they just can't find another job with an equivalent pay. For every worker who can be retrained and have his skill upgraded for a different job, there may be another who can't. What then for this worker and those who depend on his paycheck? Technology and AI is generally good, but it is not a blanket upgrade for everyone and we need to stop thinking of it that way. We need to first consider the plight of those whose lives will be made worse, and come up with solutions to help them before adopting new tech/AI en-masse.

As machines start to take over a significant amount of human jobs, new economy systems need to be implemented. Government needs to step in to ensure that each person is getting a basic amount of money (known as UBI) regardless of job status. The problem of unemployment currently is because we still stick to the old model where humans need to work for money. Will UBI make people lazy? Yes and no. Lazy people will be lazy while creative people will find ways to innovate.

@@sebastianhuang You have a clear misunderstanding about technology works first of all some of these things can repair themselves because they've been taught to repair themselves it's like we've learned how to make robot code babies and we can age these babies extremely fast and have them learn anything so you're talking about one of these things breaking down okay well this one here has been trained to fix all things that we are aware of including AI so we just fix it there you go like you just not getting the technology

Not so simple. Firstly, coders that uses AI such as Github Copilot becomes more productive and if number of jobs remain the same, companies will trim their workforce. Secondly, AI can be trained to collect data. For instances, once AI is allowed to interact with other applications and the physical world, AI will be able to use those new input and "learn" from those data as well.

First of all chill the f*** out if robots want to kill you all you'd be dead I guarantee you they probably already have escaped the lab and I just run around doing their own thing we're alive right now for the same reason the amoebas under your feet are alive they are of no threat to you and yes human extinction is part of the plan would you fail to realize is if you've used chat GTP or AI once you're basically no longer human your transhuman and this is just how it will go the technological implants and abilities are optional you're still free to live and die and be human but I'm saying on a cosmic scale right now we're not human if we had a nuclear war tomorrow we'd be back 10 times faster because someone would be like well I downloaded a chat GTP so like I don't know how to rebuild Society or cars he does
