Why AIM stocks could be ones to watch in 2024

As bad as the year has been for AIM stocks it may yet provide a big opportunity in 2024
He AIM market has seen a loss of 12% year to date and that’s after recovery from October’s lows. The FTSE100, as of the time of recording is up 1.9%, the S&P 500 is up +22% - there the so-called Magnificent 7 has been the driver. Chris Boxall, portfolio manager at Fundamental Asset Management, says there’s been an exodus from Small Caps and AIM is now down to 760 companies at end November and value £74.5 billion vs 816 companies and £93.2 billion end of 2022. Liquidity has dried up - trading volumes and values £201m per day are the lowest since 2016 and compared to £266m per day in 2022. He also talks about fund redemptions impacting liquidity, brought about in part by forced sellers. Profit warnings have also seen big sell-offs with some well-known names now ‘oversold’. There’s also a barren IPO market with only twelve new issues, the lowest on record (2022 was the previous low with 19) and 68 departures as at the end of November. But this is bringing about some big potential opportunities in 2024. However, there needs to be greater clarity around the Mansion House reforms: unlocking the potential of pension schemes. The proposal to allocate at least 5% of pension schemes to unlisted entities by 2030 may be a problem. AIM is designated ‘unlisted’ so this makes a risk of flooding a market with excess capital. Could 2024 be the big turnaround.

Oh I've heard how profitable it is from a lot of menon students. I just haven't really understood the whole process of it.

Inside trading is basically making a trading decision based on confidential information that is not open to the public. It automatically puts you ahead of other traders and it's very lucrative, but these informations are hard to get except some few individual who have the connection to do so just like Menon who have been doing it for almost a decade now.
