Indian govt should give Tejas Mk1A jet orders to HAL along with joint production with private sectors like TATA, Mahindra, L&T to complete the production within 2025 and complete production of Tejas Mk2 till 2028 and complete AMCA production till 2031. Before HAL use to produce 8 Aircrafts in 1 year with 1 assembly unit. Now with joint production of 3 more private sectors mention above can produce 32 Aircrafts per year which means IAF can get aircrafts very quickly provided the govt should make joint production bcoz HAL can't produce at faster rate. Forces need to understand that in first go no tech or product can be perfect so they need to set min & max expectation of a product. Min standards should not be based on best system available in the world in that category. We don't have budget for that. Engg & Scientist need to make systems scalable where additional technologies can be as far as possible integrated with initial products

When IAF wants to replace Mig -21, and Jaguars as soon as possible,with Mirage-2000 and Mig-29 within approx.10 years. So, where's the problem about the number of fighter jet orders to open private assembly lines? And above all after 10 years IAF will have to start the procedure to replace SU 30 MKI, so i think the there's huge requirement of fighter jets in coming two decades at least.

Agreed with the point. Things told in video are more or less on point but not entirely. Btw just a correction, su 30 mki will remain in service well into 2040s these will not be replaced during 2030s. But yes, it will be good if a program to replace our heavy weight fighters starts soon.

order numbers matter because it determines the cost of production per unit, higher the order number less the production cost per unit . . . iska matlab yeh hua ki the high cost of re-activating an assembly line (for e.g. the A380-800 wide body quad jet) has to be compensated by more order numbers otherwise the cost per unit will be significantly high as in the case of F-22E Raptor (Block III) stealth multi role interdictor strike fighter repeat order . . . production rate of both the Tejas Mk1A light multi role fighter & Tejas Mk2A multi role interdictor strike fighter at Hindustan Aeronautics has to be no less than 13 - 18 per year spread across two fully equipped assembly lines . . . the Indian Air Force should cancel it's existing order for Tejas Mk1A light multi role fighter & place a new order directly for the Tejas Mk2 multi role interdictor strike fighter . . . that way HAL can expedite the Tejas Mk2 multi role interdictor strike fighter induction into the air force by 3 years atleast if not more . . . with private sector equity participation in defense projects Hindustan Aeronautics (in collaboration) can setup a second assembly line in Dehradun, India complete with three dedicated 18,345 ft long reinforced concrete asphalt runways & full ILS facility . . . both for air force & civil commercial aviation . . .

I may not be 100% correct, but partially the minimum order quantity may have a lotvto do with economics of production. The cost of raw materials, human resources, and manufacturing resources, cost of doing business, and prifits to keep business in business and stay competitive need to be absorbed somehow, somewhere. And the only means to do that is bu pricing of the item and a minimum order quantity. Without MOQ, the item may seem too expensive for small orders. So the Quantity is where manufacturing costs can evenly distributed without item seeming to be too expensive.

Why would you replace su30 mki with su30 mki. When you are buying 12 new fighter jets then go for su35 which will enhance your building capabilities and also give Air Force new capabilities. Framework, Engine, avionics, armaments this will give air force pretty much a new platform with minimal changes from su30 mki
