Let's say total budget was roughly $200m then, with budget + marketing + distribution. Studios take roughly HALF the box office and the theaters take the other half. At the LOW END the movie needed $400m JUST TO BREAK EVEN. It only received $245m in its worldwide run, meaning it lost a good $150m or more for the studio.

And those things he is complaining about get negotiated in contracts. Of course the studio is going to try to keep costs as low as possible. I 100% believe him. Sometimes he goes on rants and his delivery is a bit unhinged but Alan is not a liar. He has no reason to lie. He gains nothing from lying. He has enough situational awareness to call it like it is. Good on him to call out the unfair treatment. No shame in that. I don't think it was him complaining about his job at all. I love that he shared. It gives so much insight. They should have been treated better, whether they were the leads of the movies or not.

that moment when you liked both TMNT movies and i hear this. does make me change my opinion on them. Sucks he experienced what he did.

David Hernandez you liked both the movies? Jesus...they were terrible and I’m a huge tmnt fan

S Mac I like both of them too, but I understand why you and a lot of other people don’t like them! I don’t agree with you but I respect your opinion.

@@Slesaint17 I like the 2nd one better and mostly because of the turtles. Being a huge fan of TMNT and dislike the movie doesnt mean everyone else has to feel the same way like you did! People have their own personal taste, you dont like it, fine. The others like it? Respect still please :)

Regarless of all of this how they treated them, he still did a smashing job!

Alan is a great comedic actor and he definitely has enough leading man chops to carry a lead role easily. Sadly, his and the other Turtle actors' experiences on the two movies are not uncommon for actors that are still getting established.

Totally appreciate him saying this candidly. Speaks so much to his character to defend his other co workers. If I was a main star of a show and they didn't pay me overtime I'd be friggen livid. Like what the heck is that.

How poetic is that that they treated the turtles actors just like how the humans treat the turtles 🐢 in their *fictional* world
