I had 2 boats ran over my float while I was literally 10m from shore. Legally boats have to stay at least 50m away from shore( at least in my country). In 1 occasion the boat driver had the audacity to stop and shout at me saying he was gonna run me over internally. That's when I pointed the 100 straight to his foot and he cooled off. Moral of the story, BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS. It's frustrating to lose a fish but it's even more frustrating to get run over.

@@DanielMannI am a free diver and a scuba diver . Although I am young I am an island boy (Cyprus) and have been in the sea almost daily since 7years old. Next time you are on a tourist ship. Pay attention to the captain. You will soon realise that it's a Miracle that accidents don't happen daily. It's either going to be a guy from a 3rd world country that doesn't even know how to swim. Or he/she is only paying attention for other crafts not people. Usually the small ships are the worst because they cruise closer to shore .

Similar issues with boat in Italy too. The law in Italy states that boats must keep more than 100 meters from a buoy with a "diver down" flag, but there is no penalty if they fail to do so, so it's really dangerous. And many people who drive boats do not know what a "diver down' flag is. And many boaters who do know just don't care.

Or were you deliberately diving on one of the routes of one of the local ferries, hoping the fishing would be better there because, heck, no one safety conscience would be spearfishing there to suck it dry LOL. Plus why would anyone think Albania is so dangerous, ur in a holiday resort area. And yeah LOL I am a diver and had my share of jet skis and boats up to tankers around me, but you've got to use common sense otherwise it' could be a different kind of video LOL. Interesting waters though! Clearly u have to get out there to find the bigger fish and more fish life.

As you can see in the video I had my float and flag on the surface. The ferries aren't supposed to come so close to shore and it was outside of the tourist season. I've dived there before without any problems. Why would anyone think Albania is dangerous? It has a horrible reputation from such films as Taken and in the UK they are represented as being overly involved in organised crime and the drug trade through the media.
@BushCampingTools6 ай бұрын
I'm sorry, how can the ferries come into shore without coming close to it? I guess you mean this was a unscheduled or off route ferry trip? I know you said you had been diving there before so i guess you knew or checked the ferry routes beforehand since this is extra important to one on snorkel as apposed to on scuba. As to the danger you indicate I doubt you faced any of that stuff being a diver there in this particular area. Forgetting the movie, there are some places i wouldn't take you to in London LOL. Strangely, your UK gov website lists Albania as ok safety wise but of course that can vary like anywhere. If you weren't looking to get involved with drugs and or stolen car crime then you'd be ok and clearly you were. Re the flag: Don't get me wrong but we all know as divers that even with the flag up it can mean jack to people in boat, bigger boats even worse only because they are looking for other large objects or even staring at their radar of which will definitely not pick out diver's flags on floats-no chance. What kind of boat did you have or did you do a big swim from shore? @@DanielMann
