Completely agree. Alfred Molina's Doc Ock was my favorite part from the original trilogy. I am beyond excited to see him again in No Way Home. The newest trailer shows more of him and it looks like he's actually a good guy later on . I am sure Alfred will nail it again Loved your video

It was this movie that got me into the superhero genre and it was all because I thought Doc Ock looked cool on the poster. I had one on my bedroom wall for years. Even after seeing the newer MCU movies, it's is still my favourite marvel film and he is still my favourite villain. I hope the MCU treats his character well.

I agree, Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus is my favorite spiderman villain too. He did great with that role, and Doc Ock is my favorite spiderman villain too, especially Olivia Octavious from Into the Spiderverse and even Serena Patel from 2099.

He does nail it again. The director took notes of what makes the villains in Raimi’s trilogy great and continued it in no way home with Ock.

I absolutely loved the Doc Ock of _Spider-Man 2,_ and remains to this day one of my favorite supervillains adapted to film, but he is indeed a far cry from his mainline comics counterpart. While the Otto Octavius in the film is a man of completely good nature who's driven to villainy by a lab accident, personal loss, and the dominating AI in his tentacles convincing him to recreate the destructive experiment they were designed for, Otto Octavius in the comics is more often than not depicted as a power-hungry egomaniac who makes massive improvements in several fields of technology not to better society, but to enact petty vengeance against those who he's perceived to have wronged him, whether justifiably or not. His stint as the 'Superior Spider-Man' really did a beautiful job exploring what would happen if a man of such undeniable genius and ego-centric qualities was given a second chance at life in the body of his greatest nemesis, starting off his heroics for all the wrong reasons, only to learn his own unique branch of harsh truths and tragic experiences that ultimately craft him into a genuinely good hero and person, in much the same way Peter did during his own rise.

While I still think Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin is probably my favorite Spider-Man villain/villain in general, Alfred Molina's Doc Ock is a very close second. I would also say that Molina is the most irreplaceable actor for a villain as well.

What you said was 110% accurate to how I felt about this villain when I was a kid. I got into Spiderman because of doc ock. He was all I thought about when it came to Spiderman. I believe he really started the whole "the villain is who people choose when it comes to the hero and antagonist" Even after the movie I've seen several kids tv shows and movies copying the idea of this character for years after because it was so inspiring, influential and genius. To this day he still takes the spot as the best Spiderman Villain in my Honest opinion.

i got into marvel halfway through 2021 and spiderman 2 is the reason why I continued watching marvel movies. he's an amazing actor and villain!!! his story, overall, is one of the best Marvel has ever given us. he's a smart scientist with a loving wife and following his life dream and as soon as he succeeds he fails. he then gets taken over by his actuators. he is easily my fav actor and villain in the marvel-verse...he's everything you could ever ask for!!!

The worst thing about Dr. Otto Octavious (Alfredo Molina) was that Sam Raimi killed him off in *Spider-Man 2* way too soon. Doc Ock needed a return in *Spider-Man 3* where he breaks out of prison to form a Sinister Six with Lizard (Dylan Baker), Mysterio (Bruce Campbell), New Goblin (James Franco), Sandman (Thomas Haden Church), and Vulture (John Malkovich). And lastly, no Venom until the very end of the threequel as a teaser for *Spider-Man 4: Maximum Carnage* but Marvel Studios' producer Kevin Fiege screwed that opportunity up by shoehorning Venom into the threequel.

Joker is a outlier because hes pure evil but not of his own volition alot of times hes evil because hes insane and wants a goal in life something reachable or that can teach the world a lesson. That one horribly bad day can break even the strongest morals. Hes insanity but fueled by a purpose. That and hes darkly funny at times, hes argubly the worst clown but has some decent punchlines [like the injustice timeline where the punchline was litterally breaking a god vs how he could never break a man.] Its darkly funny in a ironic sense.

On god I liked Dock ock so much after watching the movie in the theaters with my dad, our first time watching a movie together in a theater. We got the spider man with dock ock arm in a train door base. Instead of a note articulated spider that came with the vespa, just wanted to recreate the fight scene so much !

Many will say Green Goblin is No1 for Spider-Man’s rogue gallery and frankly, it’s hard to argue the toss. That being said, Otto Octavius has always felt like the antithesis of Peter Parker and what might have been if he’d gone done a darker more arrogant path. Peter is the geek gone good, Otto is the geek gone bad.

I freaking love doc Ock to be honest I wish there was more scenes in Spider-Man 2 I didn't really want to see Peter Parker's midlife crisis all I cared about was seeing doc Ock. Honestly you should really get his own movie cuz there's a lot of other Spider-Man villain movies. I was so sad when he died in Spider-Man 2 cuz that was not right if Spider-Man would just talk to him before things got out of hand it would have been different but I'm so glad that he was saved in Spider-Man no way home so happy 😊 even though he was saved I'm never going to forgive Toby Maguire's Spider-Man or the writer for let them die in the first place and that's my choice to make 😤 honestly. I want to see him in more marvel movies it's his fault for being so damn lovable 😍

Molina is a great British actor with so much stage, tv and film experience, getting an actor of his calibre to play Ock was perfect casting. The nuances and subtle internal moments when he’s alone with the arms, were all executed by a highly skilled actor at the top of his game which escalated the drama in Spider-Man 2. Those moments are what make the audience connect with the characters and become invested in the big action set pieces. Apart from Heath Ledger, no one has come close to Molina as a comic book movie villain. Dafoe is very good, I’m sure it can be argued he’s the best villain by his fans, as he is a unique character actor with a very distinctive face and voice who can do all the creepy and sinister moments very naturally, but I never sympathised with Norman Osborn as much as I did with Otto Octavius.

I may be wrong but I think that the director has said that all his trilogy villain's are based on concepts that kids will inevitably encounter in their lives and the stories are in some small way an allegory for how to or not to deal with them in healthy ways. Green Goblin is representative of mental illness he isolates himself and lases out in an escalating pattern to get spider mans attention, in a way you can look at it as a cry for help and Peter might have been able to redeem him had he not died by his own hand. Cautionary Tale. Doc Ock is addiction his tentacles dont necessarly control him but they steer his thoughts in the direction that he is fundamentally opposed to by inflating his ego and twisting his own principles. Ultimately with help from his friend Peter he is able to overcome the arms influence and takes his agency back. Sandman and New Goblin are both in ways grief/guilt. Seeking forgivness and to make amends along with forgiving yourself are the only way to move forward. Venom is jealosy or envy and a parable for the caustic effect that they can have on the core of a person and how living selfishly onl;y hurst you in the long run.

I agree he was great. But your comment about the Joker made me think about why I consider him the best villain. As someone older who has struggled with “giving up on life” I very much relate to Heath Ledgers Joker. Not what he had become. But you could understand why he felt the way he did. And it scared the bejeezus out of me to think I knew what he felt like. It scared me that there was even a .001 % chance that I could’ve ever been like him. He was very human. He had just given up and didn’t care about anyone else. And I was so glad that I had my faith in God to fall on when I felt these things. Otherwise Heath gave me a glimpse of how someone who didn’t have God might’ve dealt with his pain. He was so real and so evil in a believable way.
@Redsnowman047 ай бұрын
I think they made him so silly in no way home. They made his anger so caricature like that it came off silly because he was never like that in Spider-Man too. It was hard to take him seriously in no way home because they made him less serious. But that’s marvel humor for you. lol

Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock is the best villain period, he’s got the best weapons, and he’s not too powerful to the point of flying but rather having limited power gives him human character.

eh, he'll do because he's well acted and well written, but he's far from the best version of this character since his fakakta split personality lifted from the stan lee version of green goblin (which raimi apparently didn't care that he used already) kept him from being a real villain. raimi was really ambivalent about the idea of a villain when he was making super hero movies. was he reading a lot of aristotle back in the 2000s?

NOPE 👎 can’t be the best villain when you rob banks to buy things u can steal.. also when u intentionally attach dangerous AI to your own nervous system

1. He would need to use real money in order to SAFELY and EFFECTIVELY purchase/obtain the tools and resources needed IN TACT. He would most likely do this on the black market. 2. It’s a Marvel/Comic book film, why would Green Goblin inject himself idiotically with that messed up serum? U need better arguments dude.
