"Malicious compliance" is a vastly underrated tactic. It's a skill well worth the effort to master.

Especially when you maintain the documentation of the various request(s), the changes to those and how you complied. And when manglement gets upset, demand auditors. That will upset manglement even more. And the really funny thing is that most auditors don't even recognize malicious compliance, just exact rule following, while the ones that do love it and tell manglement there is nothing they can do about somebody following the rules.
