You get a receipt with a Money order its attached either on the side or back , and if you Lose it , you can go back to where you purchased it and put a trace on it, I pay my rent with money orders no issues.

Hello I am a new subscriber I am a single mother of two I have my bachelors degree and I work for the school system where I live and I’m off whenever my kids are off. I think you need to find a job like that, please work for your school system so you can be off whenever your kids are off and get great benefits while doing it.

Omg. Same thang happened to my family and I at our apt complex. Exactly. It sounds like we live in the same neighborhood. We’ve had 5 property managers too and for months we didn’t have a property manager. No one to receive payments, no one to call or talk to when our ac went out during the summer, no one collecting our trash. It was a hot mess, but yet they tried to evict us and we explained to the judge what was going on at our complex and we had ALL of our money order receipts to show proof. We still live at this complex but I’m beyond ready to LEAVE

Please next time you go to pay your rent, get a Cashiers Check it’s easier for the Credit Union or Bank to locate your rent payments and the Post Office is going to want the money order number so they can do a research to find the money order.

If the mangment company says you are missing 5 months rent...just grab your recipts for the money orders and contact the money order company for copies of the front of the back of the cashed money orders...if they were never cashed the money order company will refund your money

I’m Retired. On HUD. Went to office to pay rent. Manager told me that HUD was slow paying. But everything was OK on my part. I thought l had to pay their part until it got straightened out. HUD paid but always were Late. We have an on site manager that Recertification Papers are given to us personally and back to her same day.

New subscriber. I agree with most of what you said, however I do have a question. If you have your money order receipts you can use them to see if and when the money orders were cashed, and possibly who cashed them. Just because you took money from your account doesn't prove that the rent was paid. I don't remember you saying you showed them the money order receipts. I do you hope that this will get straightened out in a positive way for you.

This happened to me and whoever cashed them took them back to the same place i bought them from. I got all that proof and they still making me pay the missing rent.

When I use a money order. I always detach the portion from the side of it that has the serial number information on it. Place it in safe keeping.

You need the money order receipts. My brother had same problem with an apartment not housing and he had all his copied and he won because they where lying plus he also had landlord receipts.

This happened to me back in 2022. I was on public housing and we had to mail in our rent payments with money orders. Well, two of my payments went missing. The housing office contacted me and said they didn’t receive them. This was for two different months. I keep my receipts. I showed them the receipts and they still didnt do anything. I found out that someone cashed the money orders. I dont know if it was someone in the housing office or someone from the post office. Well long story short, i still have to pay the missing rent and right now its on my credit. Smh

I’m confused, as to how money orders work. Do you not get a notice that they were cashed? Were they cashed to your knowledge? Where are the receipts linked to the money orders? I hope this works out for the family.

When you buy a money order there is a recipt attached that allows you to get a copy of the cashed money from the money order company...the copy of the front and back prove WHO cashed the monet order ( as a landlord I have personally seen in court multiple ALTERED copies after the tenants purchased the money order put my mangment company on the recipt and other names on the actual money.order that was cashed)
