Is there a way to change the functions for the shortcut of right clicking and dragging? I feel like it would be useful to add dimensioning to that and a few other things
@with-aryan3 жыл бұрын
@@ab3040 dragging is not with right click. but you can change anyshortcuts from the Customize menu
@ab30403 жыл бұрын
@@with-aryan I mean when you hold right click and drag the mouse in a direction and then let go. There are preset functions for what up, down, left, and right do. I think you can change those tho right?
@with-aryan3 жыл бұрын
@@ab3040 Those are called Mouse Gestures and you can adjust them again in the customize menu. Go to TOOLS then Customize and then find Mouse Gestures. I think I have a video about it

Wow, you have a great presentation style and fantastic content - detailed with good explanation of why. Just what I was searching for. Will definitely look through your other videos. Since I just got into SolidWorks for 3D printing, this has been invaluable. Thank you!

Hi Ryan, Great video. When I use “fully define sketch” to get the automated dimensions, I sometimes get the message that says something like “the sketch has been defined but not fully..”. I then have to hunt for the magic missing dimension to make it fully defined. Is there a way to quickly find the missing dimension or relation to make it fully defined?
@with-aryan10 ай бұрын
Yes there is but what is an "Automated" dimension? Unless you are talking about the drawing mode? You can go to the sketch tab and look for the "Display/Delete Relations" tool up there and click on the small arrow beneath it, and select "Fully define Sketch". This will do the job for you OR it might even push your sketch into an overdefined state in some cases. In those cases, you are better off Diagnosing your sketch manually but going over suspicious entities i.e. lines, arc etc. and try to move them with the drag of your mouse. If they moved, you know where to look.

Thank you for the tutorial but I still don't understand why @6:55 it couldn't make the line vertical. If that line was made vertical, the whole left side would be 11, the right side would be 12 and there would still be a line connecting the top of the two lines.
@with-aryan4 жыл бұрын
i applied it to that inclinded line. therefore, it couldn't be vertical

Dear Sir, Ryan, I am a Student of Solid-works, just to share that apply fix tool works for fully defined but actually when there's no under-defined sketches in drawing/sketching area
@with-aryan4 жыл бұрын
Hi, good point. The idea behind this video to fundamentally help beginners understand the importance of fully defining the sketch and how to do it. Later on, they dont have to do it manually.

There won't be too much to cover bro. Fix can be used any time as long as you know what you are doing. I would recommend not to start with it tho
