The best, most describable explanation of what is meditation and how to do it! Thank you Honorable Robina

Robina is very direct and very smart. Brusque at times but that is her charm... she gets the teaching on a very cognitive, philosophical and psychological level which is the real brilliance of The Buddha’s teaching. It is a physician HEAL THYSELF kind of approach.

She is real! No bells and whistles! No woo-woo, no smokescreens, and hide-behind-rituals and religious baggage kind of authentic! A refreshing expression of what it means to be fully human and truly spiritual! Love her presence and clarity of teaching!

Totally agreed. So far, the best and she does not project that she knows best and used all the technical terms to put you down. Best, she is opened to you not in agreement with her.

what a gorgeous woman... I did not know that Buddhas come like this... I hope for her that she gets there.... in the mean time she teaches me so much... strong yet so humble, outspoken yet so soft, opinionated yet surrendered... wow my guru

What a remarkable comment! Eloquent, full of wisdom about my beloved Ven. Robina.

To begin with I found Robina irksome and tiring despite following Dharma practically myself. And then I realised I was in conflict with her points because they rang true, we are addicted to our own neuroses until such time as we can begin to change. What a wonderful human being.

As someone who also grew up in the south east suburbs of Melbourne, her approach works for me. She doesn't dance around people's neuroses but cuts through with clarity. This is how we talk in Melbourne.

Brilliant! I discovered Robina only a day or so ago, and at first I was quite repelled by her, but once I'd listened to enough to hear the truth she speaks, and the wonderful manner in which she explains things, I became quite smitten with this fantastic teacher. She's one of us. She looks like a Buddhist, but she sounds like a mother-in-law (not sure what that really means!) yet the fact that she still has a long way to go in her path, and she doesn't use Tibetan words, makes her so easy to listen to and understood. "I need my iPad.." she says nearly half way through! Bless her... I am a great fan of Alan Wallace, but this adorable lady speaks in such colloquial terms that makes me want to listen to all her talks. So reassuring to hear her say "Just three or four minutes to start with. Starting with 20 minutes? That's ridiculous! [paraphrased by me]" when taking about how to start ones meditation practice. The Venerable Robina is my kind of teacher!

Joe Farah Same here, Joe. I loved her straight away. I like truth in its fullness and delivered with a quickness - no beating around the bush or trying to appease people. Also, I detect/intuit bullshit right away. There's a quote I love..."Most people don't want the truth coming at them too fast. They prefer it in small, controllable doses." I have found that to be true, whether I'm speaking or listening to/overhearing the conversations of others. Much love❣️ .

I'm in total agreement. I can learn from her in comparison to others. Finally someone who speaks in practical terms with practical examples. Love her.

Wonderful to listen to , so eloquent without sounding over the top , all to the point , no beating round the bush , yet so approachable . However what I really like about her apart from being a wonderful and passionate teacher, is her sense of humour.

I am a buddhist and I have done studies for over twenty five years. An would you believe after taking vows for eleven years devotional practice. I learn not to get in my my own way. To put it simply but the battle doesn't stop. It just always me to welcome it calmly.

@maccyd536 жыл бұрын
It's hard because of the nature of our everyday mind. The only important thing to remember is: Don't give up! Try short sessions of 3 or 4 minutes each, getting up and walking around in between them. You will succeed!
