Why Angle-Side-Side Doesn't Work (And Sometimes Does!)

Thanks, I was teaching my class triangle congruence today and was trying to explain why A-S-S doesn't prove triangle congruence. Unfortunately, for my example, I used one of the triangles that A-S-S does work and couldn't make a second triangle keeping the angle and sides the same. I appreciate you putting this video up to save the class and teach me some new details!

Thank you, we had that ASS triangle today in class in trig (I've taken calc ab already but my school doesnt offer BC so i just took trig again) And we had the 2nd scenario where ASS worked and i explained how it cannot possibly be altered to form a different triangle and yet she still didn't believe me.

The Angle-Side-Side triangle doesn't work most of the time (except for those rare occasions) because of what it spells. lol. I noticed that since high school. The ASS triangle is an ass.

for finding two rectangles congruent, does Side Side Side Angle Angle work (as in three adjacent sides are congruent and the two angles are between the last side to its adjacent ones)

That's not how rectangles work. If you actually mean rectangles, you just have to show that two adjacent sides are congruent. If you mean another quadrilateral, tell me.
