@Please Complete All Fields Could you please explain to me in which way this would make me less important, as a human being? Then maybe I'll explain to you that what he was implying by calling fictional characters "important" is more about the impact of the character on our personal development and less about... well the character. Good shows are meant to convey messages, for the most part, or makes us feel some sort of emotions. Therefore it's not surprising if we happen to grow attached to a character for his philosophy, his way of handling things, etc... It makes us think about our own situation, and can help a lot of people in a lot of ways. So celebrating a fictional character's birthday is more of a symbolic event to remember the (often positive) impact that he had on you (That's why you can also celebrate a show's birthday...) That's my interpretation of "people don't have to be real to be important", sorry if I wrote too much but you kind of triggered me haha (Please note that English is not my native language so they may be a lot of mistakes here and there, sorry about that jdjsjsjs)

I like finding characters birthdays in relation to the story - take BNHA for example, in class 1a the oldest students are Bakugo and Aoyama while Tsuyu and Shoji (biggest boy in class) are the youngest. I like that characters age during the story - Deku 16th birthday was 15th of July must have been around season 3 .
