right.. They just gave up the next Micheal Jordan, Luka Magic for half man half a season and he probably only has a couple good years left. I'm sick of the NBA always rigging everything in favor of the Lakers. This league is totally corrupt. Look up the documentary "operation flagrant foul" and that is just scratching the surface...

Well, this is goodbye. I’m a legacy Mavs fan from Estonia. My dad was a Dirk fan and almost dragged me into watching Mavs games when Dirk was drafted. Above all, he and the Mavs taught me the value of loyalty. How each and every success tastes sweeter when it’s hard fought. How staying loyal to the people you go through hardship with makes the journey worthwhile. He and the Mavs taught me how a deep connection is worth more than any amount of glib gains. Then Luka arrived, and it was my turn to bring my father into watching Mavs games. Like I did with Dirk, he started seeing the brilliance of Luka, and we once again grew together watching someone special overcome hardship. We debated the merits of Dirk and Luka, but we always agreed that there’s something truly special about both of them. And that something is their loyalty. - the willingness to work against the odds, and to build success out of the most improbable situations. Nico just destroyed the very idea of the Mavs. Loyalty does not matter. Hard work does not matter. Deep connections do not matter. Even if the Mavs win 2 championships (which they won’t), they’d be meaningless to me. The Mavs ethos was replaced by the ideology of corporate America, where short term gambles trump everything else. As a foreigner, I do not need to demean myself by stooping so low. And I definitely don’t want this to be the legacy I share with my dad. So, thank you, Nick, Isaac and Slightly. You truly are the best podcasters in the NBA. We shared many wonderful moments that you created. From unforgettable let-it-ride moments, from dads-do-the-ads that cracked me up, from legendary intro clips by Slightly, I’ll cherish them all. I wish you all the best.

As a lakers fan I don’t think Mavs fan realize how good AD really is. LeBron gets all the national coverage, but AD was far and away our best player. He’s one of the three best defenders in the nba, and offensively he’s elite. His last game with us he had 40 and 20 and he’s going to thrive even more playing alongside lively and gafford. He was having such a good season that most laker fans were bummed that we traded him, obviously now when we think of our future getting Luka is the correct decision but there’s not 10 players on earth better then AD. Max is also having a break out year as a 3 and D guy and he’s barely 21. Ik it sucks losing Luka, but believe it or not your team is actually better equipped to win a championship this year with AD and Max

plus they are likely the best defense the league has ever seen. beating the thunder TWICE without Luka and adding AD to that will make us the repeat champs out west. And I am not sure Boston or Cleveland will be able to handle Lively - AD - PJ linuep. Teams might average 90 against us!! Plus Christie was guarding the other teams best player and is long and athletic. this has potential to be an ALL TIME DEFENSE. AD's last game he had 40 AND 20. Ky had at least 5 50 POINT GAMES before Dallas. Christies reliable shooting will keep Klay and Grimes in check! no more hit or miss nights! its hit or sit. do you really think a team out west will be better than this Dallas team? I mean realistically?

For those who don't know, AD shouldn't be viewed as the guy to carry offense. He should be viewed as the guy who'll defend everything. With AD and what the Mavericks have, they should be an elite defensive team now. I just worry about the offense because so much was reliant on Luka creating and running the offense through Luka. Kyrie alone won't be enough, and i don't trust AD will be consistent enough offensively. Mavs need a 3rd scorer that can playmake

@a.puerto5667 Well, you shouldn't be confident, but I think you should be optimistic with the offense. AD is still no slouch offensively. Yeah, he gets some from lobs, but he's still a damn good post scorer and can space the floor, dude is averaging 26ppg this season. Kyrie is an elite scorer. When Klay is on it, he's on it. PJ solid enough scorer. Naji~ streaky shooter but has a very good floater. Lively & Gafford have improved in post scoring. Also forgot, Grimes and Exum are good 3pt shooter. They can score on their own, but it's more ideal to have someone set them up, and that's every team. Every team has someone to set up the team to score it's just Mavs happen to trade one of the best and only real playmaker on the team 🤷‍♂️

I'm sitting here trying to move into the bargaining stage. Thinking about how you shift to being a Spurs fan or something. The thing is, the best thing about being a Mavs fan is Mavs fans. The loyalty isn't to the franchise or the uniform or to management or ownership. It's to each other. Nick, Isaac and Slightly embrace that so beautifully. Even if that means banding together to punish Nico, boo all game every home game for weeks, cheer on Luka dominating the Mavs and winning a ship in LA. I don't know. Lakers fan here. AD played 76 games last season and most so far this season. He should have won dpoy last year. His last game was a 40/20 game. You’re going to love him. And Max Christie is really coming into his own. He’s consistently asked to guard the other teams best player. Just look how he guarded Brunson on Saturday. I think the Mavs are far better positioned to compete this season than we are. As someone put it, the Mavs won the trade for the short term, the Lakers for the long term. Unless the Lakers do something significant over the next 3 days I’m not sure they even make the play in.

And as a Mavs fan, i am actually shocked most people are down on the Lakers after this trade for this season. I know they’re small now but I think Luka will make Jaxson Hayes look decent like he did with Dwight Powell. I honestly see Luka and the Lakers taking a team to game 7 in rd 1 and anything can happen then with LeBron. Luka has done a lot with worse teams than what you have now. Go look at the Mavs roster in 2022 and it was basically him and Brunsons great playoffs, maybe Dinwiddie and he lead them to the WCF. You guys are ahead in the standings. You all could take a hit in the beginning with Luka needing to take his rust off but I do expect him to heat up before the playoffs start.

Hi, Mavs fan from Taiwan, as Cuban spoken: MFFL! I think it will be the huge changes to Mavs system and it is hard to all of Mavs fans to move on, but that trade is for sure. Both AD and Christie welcome to Dallas Mavs. I hope that they can fit in and also shine bright here. Here is my opinions to share: 🏀Nico's plan 1. Get AD as PF and stretching 5, so Gafford and Lively could be the assets for another trade. 2. Get Christie if this young man can play well, it could be the backup of Grimes if he would not stay, or even use Grimes as asset and pack up with other players for trading SF, PG or SG who can be the 2nd ball handler. 🏀 New Lineup C-Gafford/Lively/Powell/Kelley(Two-way as backup C and if one of Center was be traded or without Powell) PF-AD/PJ/Omax(backup PF)/Edwards(two-way if Omax be traded) SF-Naji/Grimes/Klay(Functional adjustment)/Christie(back up SF)/Edwards(two-way if someone be traded) PG-Kyrie/Dinwiddie/Exum(backup PG) SG-Klay/Hardy/Christie(backup SG) 1. As the priority, the mentioned players on the 1st/2nd will be the backup for each other, and from the 3rd to the last will be the option that I think probably will be 3rd backup even the assets for new trades. 2. It is my ideas to share for each position and the average height is our advantage. 3. Reference to Cavs, AD will play as PF and Naji will play as SF to be another key handler with Kyrie to deal with ball. So there at least 4 players on the court can makes 3PTS. 4. To play Five-Out, it will require AD as Center, PJ as PF, Naji as SF that PG and SG can adjust like focus on defense use Exum & Christie, focus on offense use Kyrie and Klay. 5. We need to control the time of each players, our players no longer as young as usual. So there is the minutes control to share: Without Five-out Center- 24 to 30 mins for each player PF-24 to 30 mins for each player, if want the Omax growing faster, 20-25 mins for key players, rest of time for Omax. SF-20 to 25 mins for key player like Naji/Klay/Grimes, Christie or Edwards takes rest of time. PG-24 to 30 mins for each player, if add Exum or other people, 24-30 mins for Kyrie, then Dinwiddie and Exum share rest of time. SG-24 to 30 mins for each player, if add Christie or other people, 24-30 mins for Klay, then Hardy and Christie share rest of time. 🏀 Strategy and System 1. Reference Cavs 4 and 5 Pick and Roll. 2. Reference Cavs 1 or 2 and 4 or 5 Pick and Roll. 3. Reference Grizzles off-ball cutting and off-ball screens. 4. Reference Wolves with height strength using Center with Lively or Gafford, PF using AD, SF using PJ, PG using Kyrie and SG using Klay, Dinwiddie or Christie. 5. Reference Warriors off-ball cutting let Klay and Kyrie be the bait to attract double-team to seek for open shots opportunities, and build up shooter's tactics and even AD or PJ after set up the screens to make the 3PTS shots. 6. Reference Nuggets to set up the tactics like Jokic for AD.

Feel the starting lineup rn is Kyrie -PG Klay-SG PJ-SF AD-PF Gafford- Center A spaced/shooting lineup would put Kyrie/Din-1 Klay/Grimes/Exum-2 PJ/Grimes -3 PJ/Naji-4 AD-5 Bench I feel is Dinwiddie/Grimes the first for guards with Exum filling in. Naji/O-Max for forwards. Lively/Gafford interchanging that center lineup.

good riddance to those r*cists!!! always remember, he might be the best player in the world(in reality), but he put Slovenia above Dallas and instead of resting in the off season after a gutting finals loss, he chose to go play for Slovenia and come back injured. couldn't even stay on the court bcuz he got no rest all for Slovenia. The Mavs and Ky were stuck battling it out without him putting many players in positions that they never signed up for. and he played no defense. the Lakers are not going to the playoffs with that d. the mavs will be back in the finals. He plays 'hero ball', just like James Harden...yet people are overlooking his well documented character flaws which played a role in him being traded. So many times, I've yelled at my computer screen/tv for Luka to STOP whining to the refs, and get his husky butt back on defense. Even Kidd mentioned it in one of his press conferences. He hogs the ball on offense, and imo at times made 'flashy passes' that weren't necessary. Great for casuals, but that's not going to win. My only gripe was that the mavs didn't get nearly enough in return. I would have loved for Reaves, and Knecht to be mavs, as well as getting more picks. Lesser players than Luka have gotten more back in trade value. That's the part I don't like.

@AdamHammond-
@AdamHammond- 21 сағат бұрын
IDK, Nico walked into a franchise with Luka, JB, and KP on the roster and most of our picks. They had 2 chances to keep Brunson, once for 4/$55m before the season (they didn't because they wanted the flexibility to trade him), and then by offering not even close to max money after the season. They did neither. KP was traded for a bag of rocks and I think Nico got very lucky that Brunson was way better than he thought and the Mavs went to WCF. On Bill Simmons trade value currently has: Luka - 4 Brunson - 10 KP - 74 Nico exchanged that and most of our draft capital and brought in AD - 11 Kyrie - 32 Lively - 62 From a strictly asset management standpoint, Nico has clearly done a very bad job. He just had A) such a treasure trove of assets, and B) Luka fricking Doncic, to cover for his crap decision making.
