So...write some stories yourself. I'm not thrilled with the strange names, regardless of gender. Naming a character that has cultural significance in our world is jarring people out of the story.

Wait! Is it just me or is anybody noticing that most of the chaotic all is lost we are doomed stories have women in charge? Get an Alfa Male in there and the problem is solved, or never took place. This would screw up the story lines. Aliens attacked, guys with attitude show up, eliminate the threat, drink beer. End of story. Look at all the time we would save watching these vids.

Apparently now man or woman is a choice. Given this there is a high possibility that this is a gender choice made by those in power. The Chen, okafores, Reyes, Rodriguez and Tanaka families are integral to humanities growth in a multidimensional way. I myself am so happy these heroes are guiding us and protecting us in every universe and time line. I also believe they are obviously dedicated bodybuilders to be able to carry the weight on their shoulders . Realistically imagine the disasters if there were males in power with names like Jones, Baker, etc they would obviously be unable to carry the weight on their shoulders .

Well, as a 76 old grandma of Spanish descent, I have the right to put out my two cents without incurring femenist/ rants. i just wrote about this last night in the comments of another video, after noticing that the stories more and more favor female leading roles almost excluively with Spanish and/ or Asian names. I don’t think there is any thing wrong with using female,Spanish and Asian names but not exclusively. We saw plenty of multi racial and gender equality even in the old 1960’s StarTrek and later stories. In some of these new ScFi stories and I am not exclusively addressing this channel even the seconds in command are women, the engineers, the science officers, etc are female,no balance whatsoever. I guess this is an agenda to get back to males but it is becoming exactly what they are criticizing. Another thing, what’s up with the AIs, they don’t know names other than Elena, Sarah, Marcus Reeves, etc.

Probably cause the author is describing the scene to the audience (that's you) to fill out and help you visualize the story.

Lmao, I don't mind the women as heroes but it's disturbing thinking its a man only to find out the voice doesn't match the character gender. Same the other way around.
