A very good quote. That's right, capitalism already sets up the game rules for actions to be taken that are oppressive, exploitative, dehumanizing and unjust. Don't need a grand conspiracy. Capitalism demands profit maximization and infinite growth, sociopaths will rise to the top of that kind of competitive system and then not have the empathy to care about the millions of people needlessly suffering. We are the 99% though, and we can do something about it. Bare minimum, we can stop worshipping billionaires. In fact, shame them. They are the lowest forms of life because they have the most power and responsibility to make things right in this system, yet they don't do it. Every single day they could end poverty, homelessness and most wars, but they don't do it. They are sick in the head and should be shamed until they realize how sick they are.

@@bensoncheung2801 Corporations advertise individualism and hard work (part of the idea that everyone is in complete control of their future) so you believe you can be successful by just honest hard work. But in reality all you’re doing is making profit for a company for a lesser expense than if you were underperforming, but either way it doesn’t matter, you won’t receive the profit made. Your managers and higher-ups will. That’s why in every public speech by capitalists they talk about the value of hard work. It is very valuable to the capitalist, but not to the worker. Edit: hard work is also more expensive for you because you are hungrier and need to by more food. Also that gives more profit to food companies. More to the point that the capitalist system drains every last penny from the poorest.

Most stable succesful countries depend highly in capitalism but balancing welfare and public-social spending at the same time. It is a bad practice. All it does is make the Democrat candidate look wishy washy and untrustworthy. I would be more happy with a Democrat losing to a more moderate Republican than a far Right candidate. They are playing with fire doing this. I wouldn't mind maybe if the Democratic candidate would say in an Interview "I would prefer "Candidate X" to win", but actively putting money in a Republican campaign is unethical. A Republican could easily use that against the Democrat after they win the Nomination. Then if this horrible Republican ends up winning, you just played a part on getting a probably unqualified, Fascist in office. I was initially thinking this practice was just "stupid" but I highly doubt the Candidates that do this are dumb. They know what they are doing and fully understand the consequences. A candidate that does this is basically just a Republican showing their true colors. They have no problem getting a far right Republican elected. Their bigger concern is getting a true Progressive elected. If the Far Right candidate wins, it gives them Political theater to go against, finding flaws when they are in office (to repeat the process next election cycle probably getting a win). If a Progressive wins, they know their days of Political theater are numbered.

A good argument can be made the US is a nascent fascist state, our justice system reflects this to a high degree and our policies seems to be whatever companies and the rich want . That's much like what is attributed to Mussolini "fusion of government and corporation" Its unwise to use strategic tension too much in the US though. The country is in a pre revolutionary state for one and second, unlike in Italy our far right isn't really a fringe movement. Its probably more numerous than Socialists by far . Its only lack of a Rightist ideology and inertia that keeps the US intact Also far Right on Europe kind of means something different than in the US My understanding as an American is that it kind of resembles the NSDAP policy wise though less antisemitic and genocidal . In other words is National Democratic Workers Socialism as versus just Social Democracy or the Left Wing Democratic Socialism In the US it divided between Authoritarian Social Conservatives European Style Far Right rand Minarchists/Constitutional Conservatives aka small state types with overlap. President Trump was none of these, he's bog standard American style populist more like Huey Long but corporate. @@shotelco This is a bit of an oversimplification. The big problem lies with America's two-party system. You really only have two viable options when it comes to any given election and there are significant institutional obstacles for any candidate looking to challenge this status quo. I would say that at least when it comes to Democratic voters (who represent the majority of the voting populous), most people know they're completely full of shit, but their hands are tied because the alternative is right-wing fascism. Now, you COULD throw your weight behind 3rd party candidates. But in this country, that's seen as "throwing your vote away", and given the way our elections work (first-past-the-post), it's hard to argue that this isn't the case. There's very real systematic issues that prevent Americans from being properly represented in elections. That's not even taking into account things like the Electoral College, voter suppression laws, gerrymandering or elected officials straight up going back on their promises. The American "democratic" process is actually about as undemocratic and unrepresentative as it gets even BEFORE we factor in corporate lobbyists, which is why I don't think it's fair to say the population deserves this. Also don't underestimate mainstream media's ability to push narratives and spread misinformation. The thing with misinformation is that it's not just bad because a few gullible idiots choose to buy into it. It's also bad because when so much misinformation is being pushed out there, it's much harder for even intelligent folks to determine who's telling the truth and who's lying. The internet age helps with this somewhat as we have a wider access to information outside of mainstream news sources (and it's a big part of the reason why younger American aren't as susceptible to these tactics as older generations), but that still doesn't really solve the problem of having no viable candidates who represent what the average American wants. I know this was a bit of a long post, but I hope I adequately addressed your point.

@@shotelco That's not how write-in ballots work though. Most states require the write-in candidate to be registered so you can't just "elect whoever you want". And there's 9 states that don't allow write-in ballots period. Furthermore, you have to get everybody behind the *exact same person* because you otherwise risk splitting the vote. Even if the vast majority of people are voting in favor of Progressive candidates, if they're split between a few different options, it becomes incredibly easy for an unpopular GOP/Democrat candidate to swoop in and take the election. Would you still say Americans deserve, say, the oppressive regime of the GOP just because they couldn't unify behind a single candidate? Because I would say that's a ridiculous. This is the exact reason Ranked Choice voting needs to be a thing. I'm also not sure Lisa Murkowski really helps your point. The election Murkowski won was for a Senate position that she had already held since 2002, and which she was appointed to by her dad, who was governor of Alaska at the time. She was also a House member before then. I wouldn't prop her up as a shining example of write-in votes working for fringe candidates, considering the unique advantages she had that worked in her favor. All things considered, she's just another mainstream Republican. Even Strom Thurmond was a popular former governor when he won his election via write-in votes.

I can't tell if your being satire or not. But destroying their enemies is a necessity, they NEED to make their enemies truly evil or try to do so. So people actually listen and are like, "Oh yeah Republicans bad" as subliminal messages and asmr is still not yet too good enough to brainwash the majority. Nor is the genetic testing for modifications to make people more docile and obedient, working properly. Besides. As a former (or not really former since I still somewhat side with them, even if I KNOW what their plans are, and that they are more or less on the payroll of more larger powerful superiors who are more corporate and bankers in the world, I mean they may be stupid and quite evil, but they are on a payroll, and I respect their superiors) democrat, the plan is this. A society where no one owns anything, the government has full authority to dictate your life, you will be forever in a debt trap where you cannot own property or a home, you must forever rent it out from your superiors, and those who side with them get more privileges than those who don't. However they seek a more anarchist socialist state where the strong govern the weak, especially since their followers are adapting this mentality to the point it will be chaos and people will kill each other, heck their own agents are likely to kill them to take their place if they ever get this society. However my idea is this society where if they win and they are eliminated for being such horrible assets. The society I envision is where the elite, our superiors, rule over everything. The major bankers who own the western world, the major corporations, and the more left leaning and even a bit of the right leaning political groups who share their mutual want of a new world order. Peace and Order no prosperity, at the cost of rights and liberty and freedom. I seek to bring that about, to bring PEACE and ORDER to the world, for this new Neo-Empire that would be formed out of corporate, political, but most of all selfish interests by evil people. Think of it as star wars in a sense. There may be inventions of artifical humans and attempts to make robots and most things automated. Work would be taken over by more "reliable" and "loyal" persons, like me. I see this grand plan, and I smile. Because unlike good people in the world, evil, evil never shows mercy or tolerance. Good people are so damn merciful, evil would rape their families, burn their home, and then mutilate the bodies of their enemies before good people even think about killing evil, even then, I've met too naive of people who are still willing to forgive a person for taking everything they love out of their life. Evil sees mercy as weakness, they only respect strength. I approve of total annihilation of the enemy, like evil does. Good never approves of such, but that is why good always loses. Because they show mercy and let evil grow again, corrupt, and CONQUER. I will be honored to join such legions of fanatics, loyal, and fearless of the end. Who would help bring about the peace this world needs, through a shadow war. Or need be, if they do so in the near future, an all out war in the world. Good will fall, forever. And evil will destroy the world in a climatic battle where evil faces evil for only one shall rule this world. And both sides have such pride they would never accept this world being ruled by anyone other than themselves. Western Liberal Order vs. Eastern Chinese Communist Order. Both would rather destroy the planet than let it fall into the hands of the other when the time comes.

Honestly, the tactic of promoting the "unelectable" opposition primary candidate is a mistake. It moves the Overton window in the wrong direction. I want, as a leftist progressive, to win om ideas. I'd rather get ideas pushed over any candidate, as we get stronger representation if they win a more challenging election, and the give the opposition pause when asked to blanket obstruct passing policies that almost beat them in an election

@Dragrath1

@@lashlarue59 Sadly this will not change the situation unless we can convince a critical threshold of voters to concentrate on a third party candidate. Disillusionment and throwing away votes are the problem which allows the two party system to maintain its focus of power since the opposition is left divided among too many minor players or left out of things altogether. Remember that if either side gets their way there can not be any victory What we need to do in order to actually bring about change is the absurdly difficult task of trying to find a way to mobilize enough 3rd party votes to candidates which can bring the change needed to save democracy from itself. Given the widespread political divisions and insidious use of full fledged disinformation wars that have been sown by the established parties I think only an approach which is multi medium focused on teaching voters to think for themselves and to try and go for at the bare minimum closing the various means which are being used to rot out the few bits of constitutional ideals not completely crap. Frankly there is so much broken that at this point we need to wholly redevelop from the ground up a updated constitution built for the people based on evidence of what works and what doesn't which fully utilizes the lessons therein and filtered through a lens of impartiality if possible to try and disentangle it as much as possible from volatile politics until its ready to be pushed through. In this case perhaps academic peer review with independent oversight? As toxic as social media has become I do suspect it could be used as an asset for developing a better representative sample of what people really want from government. There absolutely will have to be built in measures to account for bias fact checking ideas and dealing with hackers/trolls and the likes knowing that there is no way such a system will ever be perfect. After all from the purview of information theory(thermodynamics) a political economic system like any other system has an inherent entropy or age with this principal in the form of genetic and epigenetic drift and cellular competition being the chief culprit behind biological aging according to research. And by this analogy our system has long reached terminal metastatic cancer. Corruption in this context is literally the effect of increasing entropy which must be offset through exchanges with our environment. New ideas and evidence based means of evaluating their effectiveness while restoring and increasing the general publics awareness of the underlying issues and critical thinking skills will be essential. We need to spread awareness and build a large base before it is too late. So don't just go third party or stop voting altogether we need to somehow mobilize set up (ideally free) places for communication and idea exchange vetting ideas based on evidence and logic.

And unfortunately, Fascism(if you define it in Marxist terms, as an Aristocratic republic where the Capitalist class takes direct political power unfettered by democracy) is actually a pretty stable system of government, describing most of the Roman republic and early Roman empire(around 700 years), most of the HRE, The PLC, nearly all of Europe between 300 and 600 AD, and the serene republic of Venice
@Dragrath1
@Dragrath1 2 жыл бұрын
@@mvalthegamer2450 Its worse than that because from an informational perspective which looks at economics and politics in the lens of information theory because the underlying mathematical structure of wealth concentration is actually directly analogous to gravitational collapse occurring within a mathematical phase space. Fascism as defined by Marxist thought more commonly referred to as a full oligarchy is in this context a distinct phase of matter within the phase diagram of political socioeconomic systems. In this context wealth exerts a purely attractive force through distorting the curvature of the phase space that means without an organized response to prevent the system from coalescing into this state. And yes as any informational system it will irreversibly collapse into a black hole should it exceed the Bekenstein bound so yeah the math doesn't look good in the case of status quo. In this context wealth inequality is an important state variable which governs phase transitions. I forget which issue but this was in an article within scientific American some years back and while the model was still highly simplified compared to reality it still seems to have accurately predicted the current phase transition to a fascist leaning oligarchy. >_< So yes it does appear to be the case that you can quite effectively mathematically model political socioeconomic systems though thermodynamics and without socialist wealth redistribution mechanisms in place wealth will all flow to the systems center of wealth though transactions even in the limiting case where all transactions were fair and equitable. Economics and politics are not separate from the sciences as much as they claim otherwise they are just dynamically coupled i.e. their variables are not separable within the differential equations governing the equation of state for the system.

Same thing with risk and capitalism which is represented by our electoral system. passing something that the people want = higher risk of losing campaign donations from capitalists vs passing something the people don't want, but capitalists do = less risk of losing campaign donations. In Capitalism, innovating something new is a high risk venture, so most of the time capitalists will only fund low risk ventures and follow tried and true short term gains. Music companies do this all the time which is why all new music sounds the same: bands and performers cost a lot of money to promote, so putting money into an artist who is unique and truly talented, but may only gain a niche following is a much higher risk than some lowbrow, derivative, cookie cutter clone of the top 40 charts that can be marketed to as many people as possible. Capitalism PUNISHES risk. And you see this all the time in every aspect of life, especially politics.

@@bothpartiesaretraitors4021 Good points. I agree. Vote, always vote, but absolutely never vote for the Establishment Parties. I've never voted for the main two parties, and that might be interesting to hear because I'm in Canada and people think we got so many options to vote for, and we do, but the reality is that we have only ever had the Red or Blue party in power at the Federal level. We have a Conservative and then a Far Right Conservative party, just like the US. And still, majority of voting people in Canada still haven't figured it out yet! Voting lesser of two evils still makes things worse, not better. Anyway, there probably are more young people voting with a sound mind. A few seats are won by 3rd parties like Greens and maybe next election will be even more. But I'm not optimistic because I know that voting, is a very small part of what people can do. Organizing, education and helping locally can be done nearly every day or every week. That can really make a difference, much faster than going into the voting booth one day a year, or so.

The idea about "the path of least resistance" is so spot on. Never mind the politicians, though! It's a problem I have encountered with many normal voters. - Don't take a stand against your employer when they spew bull$&@| at you or you might get fired. - Other people won't support the female candidate, so go support the male candidate so that we win in the general election. -- (Similarly for leftist vs. moderate.) - And one that's definitely infuriating me of late: Well, [those fascism supporters are] your family and they love you! All of this could be summed up more neatly under the idea that "There's nothing you can do about it, so don't even try." Except, of course, I *can* do something. Yeah, it may be small and damn near negligible in the big picture...but this is how change often happens: small bit by small bit. Resisting fascism, much like the creep of fascism, can be a process. Too many people have this idea in their head that, if they're not making a big impact, then they're not making any impact at all. And that is *just NOT true.*

I would disagree to both of those. First, we see in totalitarian regimes people taking the path of least resistance all the time. Such governments tend to get toppled under poor economies where what used to be the path of least resistance has built up so much resistance that toppling the government has become the path of least resistance. Second, if I were to live in a totalitarian regime, I can still speak out against it so long as I am alive. That's still *something.* If you're thinking that voting is the *only* way a person can do something, then you're an example of the type of person I am objecting to in my original comment. AS always: Whether it's reactionary Republicans of the far-Right, or neoliberal Wall St. Democrats of the near-Right, they're both heading to the same destination. All that's being debated are optics & velocity.

Brings to mind that Neo-liberalism has pretty much never been defined, but used in several senses to describe economic theory, ideology, development theory, or economic reform policy hence we see the endless argument of if it shrinking or not in the US. While it always had to maintain an appearance of being in opposition to republicans, the democrats after Reagan, stood by while legislation passed to grow monopolies, decimate unions, stop enforcement of anti-trust and prohibition of price gouging.

I used to hate your content because i come from an ex "socialist" more like marxist lennist country, i heard the horrors of the systems and the ripples are still felt to this day,but the more time i spent in the workforce pushed me to give your content another chance and honestly America's republican party's slow decay to far right ideology pushed me further left i would honestly love a video where you describe your economic/political ideology and delve deep into the nitty gritty of it thanks for the content.

Which country? An eastern European one? Second Thought does that (describing his economic/political ideology) in his video "Socialism For Absolute Beginners". Note that even most Marxist-Leninists (I am not one) don't want to copy-paste the Soviet model. If you want to learn what is possible with modern technology, I highly recommend you check out Plastic Pill's "Cybersocialism: Project CyberSyn & The CIA Coup in Chile", it's an excellent documentary. And Paul Cockshott's (funny surname ikr) talks/lectures/interviews, he delves deeper into the nitty gritty of cybernetics and socialism. I can recommend you some leftist channels which makes great video-essays / documentaries if you want.

@@revolutionaryape7568 Yeah, I miss the way KZbin was years back. They didn't remove any comments unless they were threatening. Can you summarize your reply here? My health is good, comrade, thank you.

@@revolutionaryape7568 The capitalists and bourgeoisie here are whining that no one wants to work since the pandemic... Once we got a taste of what's it's like to spend time with loved ones and not working our lives away for them. But the truth is, we're just tired of demeaning jobs and being underpaid. So factories have been caught using child labor here, recently. Some as young as nine and ten. Dangerous and hard labor.
