Why are Eritreans in exile being silenced? | Inside Story

Rights group accuses government of intimidating Eritrean activists in exile
Eritrea is often described as one of the most repressive countries in Africa.
People's rights are severely restricted; military service is compulsory and often indefinite; and opponents of President Isaias Afwerki are locked up in jail.
Even Eritreans in exile are apparently not safe.
Amnesty International is accusing the government of harassing and threatening activists living in Europe and elsewhere in Africa.
It's highlighting the issue as Eritea is a member of the UN's human rights council meeting this week in Geneva.
So who is responsible for the campaign of intimidation?

It doesn't even matter if the govt. Allows voting because the majority could be the oppressors. What matters is that you have a solid human rights code in the constitution that you can actually enforce with people who are humane. I live in Canada and its been nonstop well-organized harassment and attacks for 57 years. Nobody will do anything about them and thats why they grow in numbers.
