Brandon: getting Dean into this interview was a good call. We're 18 months into learning the virtue of patience, awaiting our (now going to be) 2022 Unity TB . . . I would like to share confirmation of the demonstration of Triple E Culture we've experienced: COMMUNICATION! It's been "second-to-none" with our dealer, and when it came to my questions on cabinet construction, both Dean and Wally have returned my calls quickly. Although handcuffed by the tough supply chain issues, I feel LTV truly does wish to achieve Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty. We agree with you, as a sight-unseen-deposit-made Customer, we believe in LTV. 👌

Even walked with him at the end of the day back to his car just an amazing experience. Saving my money to get the twin rear bed model. Dean was the convincing reason why I picked a Leisure van thank you Dean

Marlon, I too met Dean a couple of times at the Pleasanton RV show. He IS the face of LTV and a “regular “ guy. Very approachable…no schtick…who he is online is who he really comes across as. Great interview with Dean, Brandon! I had the pleasure of meeting Dean at the Earlybird RV Show held in Abbotsford, BC, Canada this past weekend (Family Day long weekend here in BC). He is a terrific, down to earth guy. The local LTV dealer had a (sold) Unity FX on display so my wife and I finally got to see the LTV quality in person and we are now fully committed to becoming part of the LTV family. Our unit will be a 2024 Twin Bed model I am hopeful that by then, a Lithionic’s 315 Amp Hour battery and 3,000 watt inverter might be an option direct from the factory…

Nice love fest interview. Hard questions were not asked such as: why dealers are charging high non-returnable deposits? How much influence do they have over the dealers with sales and service? He mentioned future products have been delayed. What are those products? When will all electric be introduced? Why have they delayed introducing all electric? What is their philosophy for introducing new products? Why are they a Toyota instead of a Tesla? I could go on and on. It is time to ask tough questions to the RV industry.
@Pagosa2 жыл бұрын
I don't think they have much influence on dealers, as they are a pretty small company with not much inventory to sell. I'm sure the big boys like Thor and Winnebago have much more influence, but prob don't care about consumer like LTV does.

Impressive assembly plant tour we signed up for in Winkler after we ordered our 18 FX. From seeing the bare chassis received from Benz/Ford to the final coats of clear in the booths; truly impressive witnessing the attention to detail in all the line stops a unit makes assembling the components including plumbing, electrical, the upholstery shop, etc. My favorite was the panel (wall, roof & floor) vacuum presses and cabinet shop. Found the LTV team in all departments very friendly, easy going & approachable. Our last name being Winke; it was fate. The Winke's in Winkler! Enjoy (when they start booking tours again). Side Note: When we were doing our research on all Class B+'s back in the day, got a laugh of Dean's older videos; sporting a white belt with matching white velcro shoes. Good Stuff!

@@norm4907 That’s how I got my information. I checked with the dealer last week, who checked with LTV. LTV’s estimate is that my production date will be sometime in October. I”m shifting other travel arrangements now, because I was hoping that I would have some time this summer and fall for exploring. Looks like it will be next year before I’m really on the road. @Pagosa2 жыл бұрын
Great question, but I believe it was because the RL took it's place. Both were Murphy bed models, and since the Wonder MB didn't have a slide out like the Unity MB, think they just thought the RL was a good replacement. I'll be sure to ask anyway!

It’s to bad that u didn’t ask Dean why LTV continues to use outdated technology in their units such as AGM batteries, absorption refrigerators, LP cooktops, non MPPT solar controllers, and onan’s older (non QG) generators. I note that the air conditioner in the Wonder RTB is so deficient that mike and jen wendland replaced it and they had to source leveling jacks from a third party bc LTV offered no such option. Given that almost every other word out of his mouth is “innovation” it would have been interesting to hear his responses.
@Pagosa2 жыл бұрын
I know a few of those answers. They do offer lithium as an option. Absorption is horrible, but believe they have plans to change to compressor in future. No MPPT, no clue, but wish they would change that. The new Onan's are backordered for probably more than a year due to supply chain issues, told this by Airstream up fitter. Wendlands put on jacks at Equalizer, as the Ford Transit isn't really made for jacks, and I heard they already knocked on of them loose due to lower height of Transit chassis. I have them from LTV factory on my Mercedes Unity. I am a part of their customer council, and they will be adding some of the newer innovation in the near future. Like he said, they still have hundreds of orders to fulfill before they can switch everything from one system to another.

We are currently waiting for our Unity MB”L” now and will likely be delivered 4/24 (2024 version). Benefit of waiting will be the window above the MB! We spent 4 years full time in a Tiffin Phaeton 45’ which we loved! After we stopped our full time travels we began looking for something that provided the feel of our 45’ in a smaller package! When we first saw “Dean’s Video” of the Leisure Travel Van MB we were sold! Very excited! A nagging question for you if you know the answer… the rearview mirror is quite useless. Why isnt there a rearview camera set up similar to the Airstream MB. Any chance something like that is in the works? Great channel and we hope to cross paths when we get back on the road in 24’! Lithium upgrade will be the first item on the list btw! Cheers!

Going to Alaska would be awesome! The only hold back on an LTV going up there is the small fuel tank. It's only 24 gallon, and the Alaskan hwy has some very long stretches between fueling stations from what I've heard. I may be wrong, but would be worth noting for sure. For solo travelers, any floorplan would be great. We got the FX due to the openness of the coach for 2 people and 2 dogs. but with one and one pup, you would be happy in any of them I'm sure. Until Leisure Travel Vans Makes a LTV version { their own } to rival the Ekko they will start to fall behind. The ekko is such a greaT RV because it has things that alot of RV'ers want> an RV that is able to boondock in all 4 seasons { all the tanks are inside) Leisure could take their craftsmanship and make an excellent FORD Boondocker. The Ekko had over an 18 month wait as well and aare in really high demand. If Leisure made a rival that beats the ekko you would have me in a pre-order along with thousands of others. BTW make the wonder with DUCKs for AC and heat like the unity!! it makes no sense since I prefer the FORD over the Mercedes
@Pagosa2 жыл бұрын
I would love for LTV to make an Ekko type RV. However I don't think that's their customer base. LTV has a 3 year waiting list, so I don't think they are too worried at the moment.
