Magnetism is the force exerted by magnets when they attract or repel each other. Magnetism is caused by the motion of electric charges. Every substance is made up of tiny units called atoms. To become magnetized, another strongly magnetic substance must enter the magnetic field of an existing magnet.

This was super duper amazing as always👌👌 1 doubt sir, if ferromagnets are permanent magnet then why don't they attract each other? I mean why don't two iron objects attract each other?
@anikamittal9980
@anikamittal9980 2 жыл бұрын
i think that is because they need a magnetic field to act like magnets like if u bring iron in contact with a magnet it behaves like a magnet coz that magnet has the magnetic field which triggers the magnetism in iron that is why it is called paramagnetic but if u bring iron in contact with iron then there is no magnetic field to trigger them hence they behave like non magnetic matter. this is just what i think it may be wrong hope it helps!

Sir i think that depends that whether we're talking about the gravity at sub atomic level or the gravity near object of greater mass . If we're talking about the gravity at some atomic level then the gravity is way weaker than the electromagnetic force. but if the gravity is seen at large lr scale then the gravity is way stronger than electromagnetic force black holes for example.

Let me explain this to you...the answer is no...they don’t have any kind of poles to attract or repel...then the question arises that how are the attracted towards a magnet...the answer is simple...I will answer you by taking a wire from which electric current is being passes as an example...now suppose you have a wire of length 1m and you pass electric current through it...now everything is made of atoms right? Now in that way wire should also have atoms inside it...now what happens Is that when you pass electric current through wire, for simplicity let’s assume that electrons place them On one side of the wire while protons reside them in the other side of the wire...we all know moving charges constitute electric current...for simplicity let’s assume that protons are moving in our wire and generating current...now let’s assume that an neutron is moving outside the wire with the same velocity of that of protons (for simplicity of course) now according to neutron’s frame of reference, the protons would seem to be stationary since both of their velocities are same...but as a result of their velocities being same, the electrons would seem to be moving for neutron...now the things become somewhat complicated...as the electrons move...it implies from special theory of relativity that moving thing’s length becomes small when compared to that of stationary things...now since the electrons are moving, their length will become short but charge will remain the same...which means that a the charge is occupying less space...which increases linear charge density of that wire and hence as a result a net charge comes to the wire...which will further attract or repel or have no effect on neutron according to neutron’s charge property...now we know that neutron has no charge on it which clearly means that wire will have no effect on the neutron...but if an another particle was chosen in place of neutron the wire will have effect on the particle so chosen according to its charge properties...say if we would have taken electron in place of neutron, it will get attracted since there is net positive charge in the wire...hope you understood ☺️☺️ Ps: A wire also acts as a magnet so I believe you got your answer😊😊

Rip for those who thought would get a really logical and scientific reason why magnet act as a magnet. Those magnets are very tiny magnets on atomic level. If you ask why do the Tiny atoms act as magnet, then first ask why the $$$$ there's charges on subatomic particals. As a kid you wonder why magnet attracts iron ,now also you ain't get a satisfying answer . That's how universe works and makes us curious 🙂

MY BIG BOOK OF NEVERENDING DOUBTS:-- 1.Sir,how do Radio stations work?? 2.How can Howrah Bridge stand perfectly,even though it doesn't have any support in the middle??
@findingmyself2446
@findingmyself2446 3 жыл бұрын
1. There is not just one but Multiple Phenomenons Because of which radio waves are reached to our radios. Firstly, the radio waves going out of earth 's atmosphere are reflected back by a layer of atmosphere called "Ionosphere".. They are able to do so as they have charged ions... Now, there is a phenomena called " Resonance " because of which our Radio are able to detect different Radio waves ..every single radio waves are having their own natural frequency...and every object present in our environment has a natural frequency. Resonance is simply when the natural frequency of the object matches with the frequency of the other vibrating object it came in contact,,, the loudness of that object increase ... For example, take a tuning Fork. Hit it with a hammer so that it start vibrating. Now place it near a table. If the natural frequency of that table matches with the frequency of that tuning fork, the energy would amplify.. Same the case with our Radio.. There is a system inside our Radio which can produce different frequencies.. When you change a radio channel , you are actually just changing the frequency produced by the radio system.. Now if the frequency produced by the radio system matches with the frequency of the radio waves present in our surrounding , the sound produced would be louder and you will be able to hear it... Let me give u another daily life example of Resonance. U must have listen that the army marches at the same pace. But when they are passing a bridge, they are ordered to break the March and walk normally. It's bcz, if the total frequency produced by the March, matches with the natural frequency of bridge, it will break.......... Hope that it answers your question...
