As a retired POSTAL SERVICE SUPERVISOR, there are much bigger problems in the USPS besides the removal of collection boxes. I came up through the ranks by first delivering mail and I HATED how the current SUPERVISORS & POSTMASTERS were treating the employees. They NEVER made it seem like we were a team, it was always “US AGAINST THEM”. How can I dump as much work as possible on the clerks & carriers in an 8 hour shift without paying a dime in overtime ?? For the carrier, let me put 15 scan points in mailboxes along their route and track them using GPS so I know exactly where they are at every moment of the day.. It will NEVER be a team sport, not until the hierarchy realizes that treating the employees with respect will help USPS win..

They hardly ever get filled to full capacity if at all anymore and why have multiple of them in the same general area if the majority of them aren't getting used? Most people just take packages or letters directly into the post office now anyway so they are kind of irrelevant. They are also prone to being tampered with and vandalized.

@@db-rc5fr Bruh, in my country we are informed of the location we need to go to vote online. The location is generally a local school, so it is always walking distance. Ofc, if you are gonna be somewhere else at that date, you can specify that so they choose a location close to where you will be. There are no long lines, it takes like 15 minutes at most. They already have your info, and are waiting for you there. You have to show up in person and show id to vote. Why can't they just do the same in USA? What is even mail voting? How do they even confirm who is voting without checking face/identity in person?

I have friends in the Post Office from sea to shining sea....all the equipment they use from those strange little trucks to the handheld are decades-old. and I mean decades-old..they don't make the parts for those strange little trucks anymore, so much so that their mechanics steal parts from the nonrunning to run what they have left. The handhelds many delivers do not even have one. The rural drive their own vehicle. The so-called money that Congress gives them they don't see. Many deliverers set or sent home for no trucks to run the routes unless you drive your own. They are worked like dogs or else. The load USPS has been having since COVID is so heavy UPS and FEDX pick some of it up..Guess what it is even too much for them...Not only has my USPS way overdue even my UPS and FEDX packages are overdue....and they want mail-in voting???? This is the shut down of the postal service. I have family that worked for the post office and now retired because its getting so bad. It used to be a great job but its now doing the same thing as in my industry of printing. Im a printer by trade and cant get a good paying job. Soon the post office will be just the same. The Sorting Machines machines purpose is to make it faster to sort mail so it can be delivered in a timely manner, so How is removing already existing Sorting Machines saving them money? How is removing an already existing mailbox saving them money? They are making it harder to not only Vote by mail but any other things that are sent through the mail like Prescription and Social Security Checks for the Elderly, Letters, Cards, Packages and even our Bills.
