Today, we answer one of the most Googled questions on the internet for men; How do I stop failing? We delve into why failure and the fear it brings grip men in our world, and how real men confront failure. You have experienced this in your life and perhaps it has hindered you from accomplishing a desired goal. But it doesn't have to be this way. We are going to help you reframe your thoughts on failure and understand how a man of God faces it.
In addition, we also answer a listener's question about how a man should respond after having premarital relations and is about to have a child.
🔴 🔴 Watch the extended addition, all 1 h 37 mins of episode 155 on Catholic Gentleman Plus where we go into being publicly humiliated and how a transformed man handles and overcomes failure. catholicgentlemanplus.com

As I age (73) I have started to cope with failure by handing my fear over to God. Realizing I’m not in control

I am a lapsed Catholic and a pitiful sinner. My journey to becoming a better man, father, and husband is drawing me, albeit imperfectly back to my faith. God Bless

Thank you gents! Just the message I needed to hear. It's so easy to stay safe and in control in our little comfort zones, but to think God has amazing opportunities waiting for us outside of that. Chats like these help remind me to step out of the boat, even if the waters look rough.

Since you are talking about the Virtue of Prudence I strongly recommend going to confession for many of these one of the biggest ones is Imposter syndrome, contrary to the virtue of counsel, boy will this keep you stuck in fear over spreading the gospel

What if we keep failing at the same thing over and over again? Like trying to find a wife? Should we preserve or give up?

@@Ulfrich_Stormcock Evangelism, fellowship, maturing (financial stability, emotional intelligence, a man of my word) meditating on the character of St Joseph husband of Mary, trying to live out the 4 cardinal virtues (Prudence, Justice, Temperance, Fortitude) and not idolising women/ the idea of matrimony. It’s needy and unchristlike

God gives no actual freedom because everything gets paid in the end. I myself have always felt burdened by life. I've never, not once, not one minute wanted to do life as the pathetic human being I, objectively, am. God knit me wonderfully in my mother's womb to plain suck. Even if I'm the apple of God's eye, I have to show up at work on Monday. I.e. his love is as useful as a dry well when you're parched. Life is a tragic thing to be burdened with, because when I came out of the peace of nonexistence, I entered an eternal tyranny. God did that to me, not Satan nor anyone else. Love God, obey God, give him priority or face eternal misery. Christians remind me of kids living with an abusive father who are convinced that they're loved by their father. It would have been wonderful for humankind to have been created by a good being, not one willing to put finite beings through eternal misery for a few decades not lived acc. to his impossible standards. And no, I'm not saying that everyone should get Heaven. I'd be perfectly content to just cease to exist at my physical death. Or after a period of punishment if God must absolutely have that to retain his supreme happiness..

The biggest thing wrong with all of what you just said is that it is objectively untrue. We send ourselves to Hell. God is the literal source of all good. The idea that you have about what you consider to be good or just ultimately in its purest form is a reflection of God Who is the source of that goodness in full. The character of God is objective and ultimate good. Not only is it a lie to call God a “tyrant” because a tyrant would not allow you to reject him and his will (with you living under him), but it would also imply that there is something corrupt about him. It is a logical and objective absurdity on its face, but it is also even more wrong because those standards by which you are judging what is good and what is evil (or wrong), literally in their un-warped way, come from God. The fact of reality is that rejecting the ultimate source of all goodness and justice, which He gives you the freedom to do, will naturally result in eternal suffering. You have to realize that God is not lacking in any of the good qualities that we as humans might have, albeit in a limited way. So for example, God has perfect knowledge, and combined with the fact that He has perfect love and perfect judgment, He gives all of us an appointed time that we die. He knows that until that point, we will have made our eternal decision to live Him or not to love Him, without any doubt (because He has perfect knowledge). God is in control, and His love for us couldn’t be more evident in The Person of Jesus. Do you honestly believe that if God didn’t really love you, that He would send His only Son to die for all of us. Christ’s sacrifice on the cross payed and satisfied God’s justice for our sins against Him. What’s even more is that God has an infinite mercy for us while we’re on Earth and He knows that appointed time when we would definitively decide to love Him or to be apart from Him. I hope this has helped. Also, I apologize if some of it might have come off rude as that was not my intention. God bless you.

On paper, God is all that. In reality, he is a god of confusion. I've begged him for a livable life, one that I wouldn't curse or blame him for it, but very little came of it. If God was all great, people would know about it. As it is, when you come to him, you shouldn't expect anything from him, but be aware of all the endless demands that will be imposed on you. The light yoke Jesus talks about is anything but. The crucifixion was a way to redeem humanity, not God's love for me. What would you have thought as a kid if your father had never given you anything that he wouldn't have given to all the kids on your street? I like to think of God as a puppy owner, me being the puppy. No half decent human puppy owner would let his dog be in torment, confusion, disarray, sadness if he could stop it. I wish I hadn't been conceived. God lavishly bestowed his curses on me. I've never been able to free myself from God's decrees of lack, shame, adversity, stagnation, anxiety for my life. Yet, can you imagine how effortlessly and easily, at *no cost to him* God could have healed me of these deep-seated wounds *ages ago* ? Perhaps he gets a kick out of seeing some of his creatures miserable. Who knows? If you see a man in distress and helping you would cost you nothing, what not helping him makes you? What does God forcing me to live a miserable life say about him, about his love for me? I don't choose hell, I simply see God as the only and ultimate source of my misery because he violated me and snatched me from nonexistence for a life *he knew* was going to crush me. God's attributes are meaningless. ''Omnipotent'' How? ''Omnibenevolent'' Where the hell is the evidence of that in my life?
