The whole point of feminism is so that women can choose what they want to do provide to a properly functioning society. Just because a woman may want to “Jump up and fix the tiles on the roof” doesn’t mean they can’t also fulfill the more nurturing roles in family. Shared household responsibilities is what I have always been used to-men and women both contributing to household responsibilities. Equality at the forefront. I have heard of a lot of women from central/South America where the women have sought “western men” for the opposite reason.

I think western men, specifically white American men think an Asian woman is easier to control. I'm speaking of my experience as an Asian American woman who has dated white American men. I was born and raised in the states and very Americanized so those relationships didn't work out well. If you're willing to have someone's back and they're willing to do the same for you, things should work out. Western or Asian shouldn't matter.

I just can’t imagine her being married and doing the cooking, cleaning and taking care of the family like so many provincial Filipino girls unlike her older sister that does everything for her own family. MJ is a bread winner for her family and whole village. She is married to her whole family. Her family depends on her although they can manage and she needs them too! For the reason MJ just can't be alone. She meets a guy and she wants to spend all her time with him and with her family, no young foreign guy who in their right mind is going to put up with that.
