I lost most of my apples off a young grafted apple tree this year, but then I noticed aphids in many curled up leaves. I sprayed with soapy water then the leaves went brown and died but some leaves are growing back. I don’t have as many aphids now but some are still there with the ants and unfortunately no apples. If you could give me some tips for next year would be much appreciated.

Hi ,instead lf soapy water ,u should spray any one of these , bifenthrin 10%,(talstar ) ,imidacoloprid,thiocoloprid , ,,,, thnk me later ...

I have an apple tree in a pot and the tiny apples are dropping. I also have a few branches that look as if they have been eaten by something. The tree is only 2 years old and I’m new to gardening so I have no idea what I’m doing.

Hi, it may be that as the tree is still so young, that it needs a boost of energy to help it. Give it good liquid feed (Miracle-Gro do a Fruit and Veg one). and that should help it get stronger, whilst it it is in the pot. As after a while with any container plant the nutrients aren't replenished in the soil, so feeding the plant will help.

@@daviddomoney Thanks for your reply much appreciated I give it a tomato feed as recommended by the garden centre. Any idea what could be eating the top layer of some branches?

@@paulaivens8063 there are many insects that love to eat tomato plants, but I'm not 100% on those that just eat branches.
