Why are my materials TILING when I SCALE?

I keep hearing this, but there are many instances where painting the group instead of the faces is preferable. If you have the components but want different textures. If you want to change the texture often and/or aren't sure of the texture yet, it is way faster to paint the group than each face. You can also have a two-tone item easier if you paint some faces inside the group and then paint the group with the base texture. That said, yes painting the faces gives you more control over what it looks like, but this may not matter if it is a simple color or a bidirectional texture.

I would like to ask you a video explaining the technique of UV mapping inside a group/component with a texture like your boards in this video, after oriented the texture in all faces, delete the textures inside the group in the entity info tray. I read a thread on SU forum where Eneroth explained: after doing this procedure you get a group/component with the default material but remains the UV. This mean that when you paint a group/ component from outside it is correctly oriented. I tried to use this technique to applied different texture to the same component in order to avoid the repetition like the board on a fence. Right now I’m testing using texture on tag boxes and using color by tag.

I paint the geometry inside the groups anyway because if you paint a group on the outside, you can’t right click on and edit the placement position of the texture - which I need to do a lot when using bricks or wall and floor tile textures.

basic problem, you just edit the material in photoshop for actual size .
