​No, PS3 discs don't actually work in the PS5​. You can play PS3 games on PS5 through streaming (which I think is restricted to PS Plus), but it's better to just use a PS3 for PS3 games as the PS5 doesn't actually run them, they're streamed from a PS3 (this relies on you having a good internet connection). So cut out the middleman and just use a PS3 to run PS3 games, or get a high end PC to emulate them via RPCS3. @@deboraabh

@@pthespidey5057no it doesn’t, I work at a tech repair shop and the ps5 consists off a xlay scanner which reads the disc and the other transfers is, it’s done the same way both sides so either way you put it it doesn’t damage the disc.

I've seen vids like this waaaay before i got my PS5. So I never ran into this problem. Even the Xbox Series X has the same orientation for disc insertion. Either put the disc in with your left hand or right hand with the disc flipped. So that the bottom is facing your wrist.

Going all digital for a couple generations but you have to admit it would be worth leaving an easily removable sticker under the console, right by the reader, warning people this is actually the bottom of the console. Maybe double-down with a flyer inside the box.

Some PS4 games have trouble ruining on PS5 like Heavy Rain as it plays on Super slow frame rate mode. It's works sometimes but I'm thinking it's running slow because the hard drive is almost full so I need to clear some space to get the frame rate normal hopefully.

@@cryogenicheart2019 Well, personally I have the advantage to have seen enough YT videos to know how to insert the disc, but since the PS4 had it's disc slot on the top left as well I can very well see people getting very confused with the PS5, although the answer is simple. I think the Xbox is a little more simple there, on one side you have these rubber things so it's clear how to place it (although I think the Xbox looks best standing up)

By the way, try putting your ps4 disc downward towards the reading drive as the ps5 reading drive is different from the ps4 which in the ps4 you can(technically) insert ps4 discs both ways on the same type of Playstation but in the ps4 reading drive, ps4 games however can be read no matter what

Dude you scared me there i very recently bought a ps5 "the slim one obviously" because my ps4 kept getting corrupted data every week and needed to delete all data to restart "so basically it broke" and i haven't tried any of my discs yet and i thought "oh crap wait dont tell me they actually dont work"
