I just came here to compliment Santosh for speaking his heart out. STUDENTS should listen to him and do due diligence. Whatever he mentioned that's completely true and people will surely understand if they are staying in US/Canada for around a decade (after that return is difficult but not impossible.) I am saying because of my 11 years experience in US and have started process of return to bangalore. All what he said is true for USA too. Hope everyone to be happy wherever they are!

I am Indian Canadian. Each and every point this person made on this video are true to the point. Canadian health care is free, but you don’t get an appointment to see the doctors. If you go to emergency care you have to wait at least 5hours. Government is too much liberal. 10 years down the line, Canada is going to see bad consequences. Native Canadians are highly against Immigration. As a result I notice lot of racism towards immigrants. Housing prices are skyrocketing. Rents are high. Moreover, there is control over rent. Bad days are ahead unless conservatives take over the government. I have hopes on Conservatives. No option. Good thing about Canada is you work hard you make more money. Clean environment. Clean roads. Food is affordable. Schools are free. There are quite a more good things about Canada.

One thing that Santosh missed is the changing sentiments of native and naturalized Canadians towards newcomers (all nationalities). They see the newcomers more as a drain on the taxpayer than as contributors. Twitter is rife with people bad mouthing newcomers when the Canadians themselves are struggling to survive. In my opinion, the govt seems to prioritize immigration over the welfare of citizens. Homelessness and drug usage is skyrocketing and queues outside food banks are miles long. As Santosh pleaded, do thorough research before coming over. The mentality of "let's get there first and then we can figure it out" will lead you into a nightmare.

I have lived in Canada 🇨🇦 for last 12 years, if you’re skilled there are many jobs in IT. I see so many smart Indians doing well. Yes it’s expensive now but if you work hard and save you can still achieve your dreams. FYI Hongkong people started flipping houses first in 90s Vancouver.

This is the case for Indians who have moved in in 7 years or less. If you have moved there 12 years ago, you moved in the golden period to move to Canada.

@@anjalidesai3630 There is no golden period. Whenever you start in a new country - for immigrants, it is a challenge. I am closely associated with the Canadian housing industry as a banker and have seen the ups and downs for the last 20 years. Part of his problem is he tried to create India there. You are not ready to adjust your lifestyle to the new place and expecting dal and samosa wherever u go- impossible. I am surprised the bank does t offer fixed mortgage- the interest rate will be high for fixed so people go for flexible rate. Then when rates go high - they cry. Inflation is everywhere after Covid . Medical waiting was like this for decades. That was not new.

Absolutely agree with Santosh. Prospective students and parents should do their own due diligence instead of blindly believing the gold diggers who are pushing the "Canadian dream". Stupid tiktokkers like to show off in their mustangs and teslas to their gullible viewers. But what the viewers dont know is that the Teslas, BMW's and Mercedes are delivering pizzas and doing uber when they're not filming!

I agree with Santosh broadly on the issues or cons side. There are pros too but I do realize this discussion on challenges need to go out to avoid people from getting attracted to thr glamo5side of things which come after years or decades. Secondly the extreme examples or points about desis buying up houses etc is to be taken witu grain of salt. The point about people buying up more houses for business or investment has been going on for decades and its broad based - people from diverse nations and continents and even locals do it. The concentration of desis in certain pockets like Brampton is what he is referring to. Just try to put this in context.

At no point in past you had 2 million people coming in every year! This has put immense strain on housing markets and made rents go up like crazy. In front of my eyes the prices of detached houses in KW have gone up from 400k to 1.2 million in a span of just 5 years. Yes people did but multiple properties to put on rent but the rental market was never this hot !

One wrong information.. it was said that 16 lakhs you earn through interest in India is tax free ..actually the reality is although India won’t charge interest for NRIs but if you have PR or Australia/Canada citizenship then Australia will collect taxes on that amount ..you would need to mention foreign investment while submitting your taxes in Australia..if you don’t then Indian banks usually share this information with Australia tax authority

This is where you are completely 100% wrong. When you sell a house you don't go to a street or go to a provisional park put a tent. you have to live in other house. And when you go to buy another house it is more expensive than the house you sold. Unless you're selling everything off taking the money and going back to India and due to the currency conversion there in India you can live like a king. But in Canada if you sell the house the next house would be much higher interest rate and higher price so you'll be in a worse of condition.
