More people, more problems. More everything, both good and bad, because "wherever you go, there you are". Like the song says, "they pave paradise and put up a parking lot.".

Farming??? Not anymore, unless you are talking about all of the wineries. I remember when Fredericksburg was known for peaches. My family has been in this area since the 1870's but I'm considering somewhere farther out. Kerrville used to have a small town feel. Now no one knows their neighbors anymore because of all the B&Bs. Don't get me started on things like police corruption in the city of Kerrville or other things we prefer to keep out of the news. The newbies around here are in for a rude awakening if they think it's all hugs and smiles. Nope, it comes down to how deep your pockets are and what can be squeezed out of you.

The same thing happened to my small town McKinney. Over 90% of the families moved out of the small subdivision. We're known as New California now.

Whats going on with police corruption in Kerrville?
@lennyjonas54174 ай бұрын
@@ripperrex7883 Maybe corruption is a strong word but let me give an example... KPD loves to catch people with those stupid vape devices that all the kids suck on these days. Many convenience stores in town sell them. The problem is that anything over a Delta 7 gets the holder charged with a felony possession. The courts love this due to the profits they reap. KPD gets an atta boy and goes back out to bust some more vape criminals while ruining many youths lives. The stores get a free pass to sell and sell again. Thats just ONE thing off the top of my head.

While 5 people leave, 105 people arrive. All the issues that this video shows are Global. The TX Hill Country is still a great area to live in, just to be clear. But let’s not turn it into California please ;-)

For me, it was the constant surge in property taxes from Hays County; I had a nice 3/2 in Wimberley but decided to relocate to North San Antonio (Hollywood Park), plus be a little closer to medical facilities, etc as I'm getting older. I loved Wimberley and the people - awesome place but just became NOT affordable. On the good side, there is a new Costco in nearby Kyle to offset rising food prices from HEB.

Yep. Too many Neighbors. Development completes with Agriculture for Land Prices. They're wise to "Wagons East" toward Oklahoma or Arkansas/Missouri where it rains more in The Ozarks and Ouachita Mtns.

I see people moving into the Texas Hill Country for everyone moving out. Interest rates and inflation have affected people everywhere.

I grewing up camping at Enchanted Rock when my dad would rent the trailer from the rancher who owned it. Now Fredricksburg is like a mini Austin or Dallas. So to all of those non Texans who jacked up land prices, don't let the screen door hit you when you leave. Those who embrace Texas heritage and will protect our wilderness are welcome to stay.

REAL county is real cheap thanks to border crisis.
@mboren8777Ай бұрын
I live in Medina County by Castroville and Medina Lake, so many people are out here now there’s at least 2 accidents a day on our county roads due to people not knowing how to drive out here. We’re also running out of water, many of my neighbors wells have dried up. Our infrastructure is horrible and they keep building and building.
