The climate and the beaches did it for me. We love it here. Sure, there are negatives but no place is perfect. I love the warm weather and tropical climate. Being outdoors makes me so much happier.

I agree with you 100%. Us Floridians take the climate and beach for granted. We can enjoy the outdoors year round. It’s way better than being stuck inside because of the cold.

Most people say that yet never ever go outside here in SW Florida....it's crazy!! They move here and sit inside with the AirConditioner running all year long...it's just too hot and humid...and the sun will always burn you...as well...the only people you will see outside are tourists and pool guys...and homeless...

I think being close to the ocean helps. We live half a mile from the beach (Fort Lauderdale area). We are outside seven days a week! I do agree though most people just sit inside all day. We keep our air conditioner on 76-78 degrees in the summer and in the fall/winter we just leave the windows open and usually don't have it on at all. It's crazy to me when I see people in sweatshirts and pants walking around in the summer but then my wife reminded me they are probably going from one air conditioned place at 69 degrees to another SMH!!!!!!!!@@stevewalther2293

Absolutely 💯 correct...Florida is for wealthy retired married couples..but nobody wants to admit it..and there really isn't much here but beaches, bars, and Restaurants....

Its a dream for me. I have been to siesta beach, orlando, fort meyers areas and did not want to go home to cold ny. I want to be near palm trees the sun and the ocean. Ill get there one day.

I have lived in a lot of different states but Florida has the best restaurants with very good prices. I have to pay 3 times as much anywhere else for the same quality.

So true about the "Staycations"...I love taking mini trips to other parts of Florida and exploring the beaches and culture in different regions and cities like Key West or historic St. Augustine. In my opinion Florida feels like 3-4 different states combined into one.

When I was a young boy of 5 living in Revera Beach my father was stung by a scorpion. I don't know if they're prevalent anymore but you might want to add them to your list of reasons not to live in FL

I remember when I was a kid before moving to FL and living in NJ, that was my mom’s experience. Layers and layers of clothing and getting the car ready etc. The perfect situation is go somewhere else in the summer and in Florida for the winters/spring

up north, in the salt, you have to buy a new car every 8+ years or so due to RUST....they won't pass inspection anymore....Florida, minus living right beside the ocean, cars can be 25 years old and still look brand new underside...

May I ask you question: I am new in Florida. I bought small apartment in 55+ and 1 lot of land. . I have to pay non resident tax. Because I can not moving down to Florida right away. Do I qualify to apply any Tax program down there. Tax office told me that I have to own and pay 2 years high tax and then the tax rate will be less the 3th years. So confusing as I am not understand.

I sure don't relate to your weather comments. Hot humid weather makes me miserable. Out of sorts, uncomfortable you name it. I can't stand dampness in the slightest. Chilly weather of autumn makes me invigorated and energetic. Winter does not bother me at all unless it gets extremely cold.

I can understand where you're coming from and many feel the same way. Depends on how you handle the heat... to some they can't stand it and to others they love it and welcome it including humidity. I personally don't care for the humidity and would love more seasonality and chilly weather a little longer than 1-2 weeks in January.

Great video, spot on. Been here (Miami near 60 years). I heard this from someone once, here judgemental spinsters are irrelevant. Living here gives you a superpower. That power being you can care less what other people think. Who knows maybe you had it already, but you want to wear a tropical print shirt all year, great, wear white after labor day, have at it. Walk around with an exotic animal, iguana or other reptile on your shoulder, go to south beach or key West and just exist, you'll fit right in. Just please, if you go to the keys, learn how to say conch and islamorada the right way (h and s are silent), other than that you're going to do fine.

Moved from LA to Jacksonville. Honestly it has painted a bad picture of Florida to me. I was used to allot of things to do and great food. Jacksonville is boring and just not that great by any means. Gonna move to south Florida and see if it all changes
