Having spent four years as an expatriate in Canada and having lived in numerous countries, I can assert that Canada faces significant governance challenges. The nation suffers from poor management, which drives talented and capable individuals to leave while seemingly retaining those of questionable integrity.
@FreedaPeeple-u8z6 күн бұрын
Sadly, it has been that way pretty much forever. At election time we always must choose the "best" of a bad lot. I can count the number of actually good political leaders we have had on the fingers of one hand, and I don't think I'd need the thumb. Currently, for choice of PM we have the Canadian Three Stooges; Jussie, Po, and Curly Schmoe, three peas in a pod claiming to be different.
@HitchBarns6 күн бұрын
@ I completely agree with you. The enduring challenge of choosing the “least bad” option at election time reflects a deeper issue within Canada’s political landscape, where true leadership and meaningful differentiation between candidates seem to be in short supply. The lack of visionary, capable leaders is a troubling reality, and as you suggest, it often feels like Canadians are left with variations on the same ineffective themes rather than genuine alternatives.
@kimmyera1746 күн бұрын
Yup. You said it right. It really is a shame that I have to consider other areas like the US or Western Europe as better places to... y'know.. have a life. Also as much as Pollievre is pushing the buttons, I still feel like him being elected wont solve all the issues at hand, and may still perpetuate the same problem residing in Canadian Government... being way too slow, corrupt, or simply out of touch with the actual legal populace.
@firstandforemost876 күн бұрын
@@HitchBarns It isn’t a supply issue so much of a strategic vote issue, imo. Everybody wonders why we end up w consistently crummy options for candidates and platforms in the two major parties, but then they turn around and vote for one of them cuz ‘strategy’. Endless articles in the media about hardships perceived or otherwise that are experienced by some recent arrival from a far away land who chose to come here of their own free will but now are unhappy with the outcome and it's all our fault for not being more "welcoming" whatever that means. every politician and media personality should look south of the border to see the consequences of pursuing a globalist agenda at the expense of their own citizens. it is almost inevitable considering how things stand, that at some point in not such a distant future, the "red wave" from down south will be coming north of 49th parallel.

@@rickzane6433 That's because American's are GIVING THEM THE BOOT, especially in places like Florida. Its the American way of telling them they can't just come into the country at their leisure and stay because it screws with their local economy. Its also happening in their work places too. So, they leave the states for the "next best thing", "Canada".

Canada lucked out when China took over HongKong. Those who were not rich enough to goto US or UK bolted to Canada and the government discovered a cartload of money. Since then a less than average economy is selling "American" dreams (pn intended) so much so that today we have 4 million immigrants added on 38 million people in a short span of time. That is 9 canadians to support 1 immigrant. If we only look at productive age population then it is 2 canadians supporting 1 immigrant. Its impossible math

Maybe they expect too much when they come rather than be patient and work hard to integrate and adapt. Some do, but most don't
@olivergoncalves12175 күн бұрын
A lot of them are very quick to leave the country - most don't stay past the 5 year mark. The Canadian lifestyle is being propagandized in places like India, then once they get here they see how big a joke the country is and leave.

I think immigrants from Europe are leaving because it was not fair for them when immigrating to Canada to have high education, be very healthy, knowledge of french and english. So, for the last 7 years immigrants are brought from Asia, indoasia, east asia, africa, middle east, they were not required to be healthy, educated, and so on, and since then here we are with 4 million immigrants of very different culture that will never ever will be canadians the way we know canadians were. Canada will change the name to Canadastansh. BTW. Canada was build and made from immigrants, mostly European immigrants. So, Quebec is becoming Quebecstani. Ontario is becoming Ontarioleshstan. BC ? I don't know about that.
@olivergoncalves12175 күн бұрын
You don't see that Quebec doesn't want it? They are doing everything possible to keep their identity. Europeans built this country, and for the most part, most of the expensive real estate is still owned by them as many have been here since the early 40's and 50's. Now the tables are turned and they want more European immigration because they can't build as well and as fast without them. Go figure.

The reality is that many skilled newcomers were underemployed and probably unable to thrive financially due to low incomes and the high cost of living. With the little they have it’s difficult to remain in Canada. Some will return to their home country and others will go elsewhere that is more affordable

Not all immigrants are leaving . . the natives would love that. None of the citizens (original immigrants and their descendants) are leaving, only some of the NEW immigrants are leaving because they're being hit by reality.

After accumulating wealth and pension it makes sense if you have dual citizenship to retire where you came from because you could literally live like rich people by just selling that 1 million dollar house. Let alone pension and investments that you've accumulated after 25 years.

In my opinion The longer stay of immigrants like 20 years they get pensions which they don't have in Canada and move back to their own countries I would assume those who are not on wait list to recieve canadian citizenship fro perminant residence status have no intention of staying in Canada in the long run ir they would be also applying for citizenship not just perminant residency status in my opinion.
