They really skipped over an important part of the conversation. Because it's a topic they know South Sudanese men will drag them on, on all the socials. And that is how a lot of our men (South Sudo millenials and Gen-Z) went to the West only to do nothing. Statistics have shown that most women of every race don't date down in social class. So all my South Sudo sisters who went Uni which is like 75% of them, if they have to choose out of the significantly smaller South Sudo population of men with a bachelor’s or master’s degree or if not that, the ones working in office or good jobs through networking. What you think is gonna happen? Grown men with gaps in resume or absolutely no work experience. This is the West, you can't just sit around eating kada kombo with asida all day and think a girl will be presented to you, because your family is wealthy or has a good name.

I stumbled across this page while researching Sudan , I met a Sudanese woman last night, and being born black and raised Washington DC i wasn't sure how to approach, but she's absolutely amazing and I hope to get to know her and make a future with her, so I'm hanging on every word , and learning, listening closely, thank you for the Insite

Great discussions ladies. I like the points made by Nyaliba, the Nubian girl, about not having opportunities for young single south Sudanese men and women to meet. Many of the points raised sound like USA South Sudanese problems. I would propose that people (maybe ladies of SOSA can do this) in the USA to hold events for young South Sudanese people, so that there’s an opportunity for them to meet (e.g. Trivia Night etc.) cause that’s a solution to having like minded people in your community meeting and getting to know each other. I think a major point that doesn’t seem to come up is dowry. It’s a massive financial burden that girls and our elders seem to not see as an issue but it really is a big issue for young south Sudanese men when it comes to committing to south Sudanese women. And I think it’s because it doesn’t affect women and elders, as much as it affects us.

Great conversation! I appreciate that one of the women mentioned intentional dating and meeting someone on your level. Thats a shame to hear SS men were being colourist in the US.... that's absolutely crazy.
@africaine48895 ай бұрын
It is crazy. You have the skin tone if not darker than your women and you want to be colorist. Anyway am happy that other african men see the beauty in SA women.

Also, IT'S VERY IMPORTANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT SOUTH SUDAN HAS A VERY DIVERSE COMMUNITY (64 times with 64 languages). You can't just speak for every other South Sudanese especially if you have been living abroad... Just saying. But this is a very good topic to discuss.
