I think you got this totally right...a combination of financial acumen and cultural influence has cemented Guinness as an Irish avatar..they actually reversed the harp on the Guinness glass ( right-facing) in case it would be mistaken for the Irish state harp ( left-facing)...at one point the former was more solvent than the latter!!!
