Why are the batteries draining so fast in my guitar?

My exact same issue. I swapped the grounds and all better. Only difference is my Fishman battery holder is on the bottom and that ground went to the sustainiac board. Thank you

Awesome! I can see how this could get mixed up during assembly, but I would think a final Q.C. would catch it before it went in the box at the factory.

Thanks for the video, my ESP Phoenix-1000 with Fishmans has the same issue. Battery would only last 2 days. ESP told me to take it to a GC for repair.

You’re welcome. I hope it helps. After seeing the Guitar Center tech soldering in the store today when I was in there, I would not recommend taking anything to Guitar Center. I soldered better when I was 7 years old and learning how to solder. Lol!

Sweet! I got this Paul w ZW emgs, sounds wicked but same issue. Had the emgs installed by a dude in this store. He's gone now go figure.. and he lost my strap! His boss gave me a better one though lol thanks for the answer that's been driving me fkn nuts!

Similar thing happened to me. I have the same guitar but for me they swapped the positive wires on the battery terminals. Seems like whoever they have in charge of assembling the wiring for the evil twin over at schecter is just kind of slapping them together without a care. Still awesome guitar but they need to look into whoever's doing that.

@Cuttlefish360 - Yes. I’m sure this causes a lot of returned guitars for retailers. Bad for the customers, but good for those of us who look for “nonfunctioning” guitars.

It has something to do with the battery making contact when it's off in my guitar. My pickup was fine for 2 years, and then it wasn't

I have a schecter riot-5 with the same issue. I'm really hoping this solves my problem. Thinking maybe schecter hired an assembly person who does this on all of their guitars they personally work on. By accident of course lol

I have a Godin. I can't believe you by a f****** guitar that runs by batteries. Then they can't in the factory can't even get the wiring right.

@robertfantazo4751 Yes, you would think it would be caught in the QC process; however, the guitar worked fine when inserting a new battery. It’s not until some time later that the battery quickly drains. That wouldn’t be noticed on a QC line I guess.
