So wait, why are the dogs back in a hotel? It's road tripping with dogs time again! Today we are just doing a short little trip, one night stay in Michigan's beatufiul Upper Peninsula! Not sure if you have noticed, but it's winter here. Which means snow, and ice. It's winterized, which means we can't use the water in it. I have zero desire to be caught in a snow storm in a motorhome that isn't designed for snow. . . Once the snow melts we will be back to camping.

What does not having a door gate have to do with their leashes? Every video I find something else that you guys do for the dogs that I have never done it even comes to mind. For instance the hotel floor check has never crossed my mind.

Omg hotel floor checks are SO important when you have dogs or kids! You never know what could be left behind on accident! We tend to find pills very often on the floor! Who knows what would happen if your kids or pets ate them! The leahes stayed on until Jamie came back in, because as I said we forgot our gate to block the door. If you have ever traveled with 2 or more dogs, they get excited in new places, and don't always want to listen as they should. So the wait command, although important to teach, might get forgotten as the door gets opened. Hotel doors lead to hallways (sometimes to outside depending on the door). So we have a 2 door system we use with the gate. And I have explained this many times in videos. This way we can do one dog at a time without worrying about someone else trying to bolt out the door. So the leashes stayed on so I could hold them easier as Jamie brought in our luggage. Pretty simple, for us common sense type stuff, BUT you are right, not everyone thinks like we do! We do EVERYTHING we can to keep the dogs safe. . . . and maybe it's more then the average person, but we also hope that it can help people understand and learn new ways to keep their pets safe.

I'm curious on that backup system on your harness. It tie the d-ring of the harness to the collar? I recently bought an urban harness from AO with all the feature on it but I also want a backup plan if something was to happen.

So we use neckline, we attach it to a side D ring, and then attach that to their limited clip collar. That way IF the harness fails, or if they try to back out of it, the collar is still safely attached

I did a year at Northern so, I drove from Bay City to Marquette just a 🤏 . My favorite parts was along US2 but absolutely hated the Sceney mile. Have you tried the Dogpatch in Musing? If it is still there it was a must stop for me.

Yeah, have never been a fan of the Dog Patch. People seem to love it, but we have never had a good experience there. We quit going years ago. I DO love Main street Pizza and Miner's Pasties!
