Why are there so many Christian denominations? Why is Christianity so divided into different denominations?

The Bible mentions the church is the body of Christ. Therefore it is not a building or a location. It was man that concocted the word church to mean a place of worship. Likewise, temple of man is built by man and a physical building while temple of God is you where the Holy Spirit resides.

I believe that denominations are a necessity, unfortunately. For example, I do not agree with Pentecostals or Charismatics on most of their doctrines or practices, so I would not want to be a member of any of those kinds of churches. But I do want to be a part of a congregation where they teach and practice what I believe to be Biblical Christianity. For those reasons (and others), I feel that denominations are not always a bad thing. Not that any Bible believing church/denomination is 100% right on all points. If they were, there would be no divisions. Also, Biblical theology is sadly lacking in most evangelical churches today, so I prefer a church where Biblical theology is both taught and practiced. Another reason why I think that out of necessity, there must be denominations. Doesn't mean we can't have fellowship with other Christians, as long as there is no compromise on the essentials of the Christian faith.

Denominations put a hierarchy over the laity and for that reason they are not of God. There is only one necessity of being a Christian and that is to believe all of the truth of the Word of God. Not one period or coma can be removed. Some won’t go to a church because the people speak in tongues. Yet we know the speaking in tongues is a true gift of God. So those people that won’t go are worshipping God in vain. Some baptize in the Catholic formula, they worship God in vain Most believe in 3 persons or personalities in the Godhead, they worship God in vain. I could go on and on, but the point is, we most all worship God in the Spirit and in the Truth. And there is but one way to do that, that is by revelation from God to each of us. And if it is from God, it will be the same revelation. Cain worshipped God, but it was in vain. When Jesus walked the earth, most of the people worshipped God in vain. And today it is just the same, most people worship God in vain. Because as it was then, it is now. They just won’t believe the true Word of God. We are told to come out of her and be not partakers of her sins. Return to the truth or perish. May God bless each of us and open our eyes to only His truth.

@@ByGraceThruFaith8453 you are able to say what you believe is correct, yet I can show where God put the gifts into place and you can not show where God did away with them And on top of that, I know for a fact that if a person is truly born again, then those gifts will be there. And the fact is, if you believe in 3 persons or personalities in the Godhead, then you are worshipping 3 gods and are worshipping in vain. No one in the Bible was ever baptized in the 3 titles that Jesus spoke of in Matthew 28:19, for they know whom those titles spoke of. There is not a chance that the Apostles were deceived, but there is much more then a chance that most of the Christian church world today is deceived with your trinity. There is very little time for people to come back to the Word and leave the false doctrines and creeds they have been taught.

@@divyavichar There are no castes in Christianity. James chapter two clearly condemns classism among Christians. Denominations are different traditions among Christians, not different classes. The fact is that Biblical Christianity is true and Jesus fulfills the Messianic prophecies of the Old Testament. He is the true Messiah and there is no other way for sinful human beings to be saved. All Christians agree on the essentials and affirm the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is true freedom from sin in Jesus Christ. He is the only source of true agape love, joy, peace, healing, and salvation. He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. He is the Word of God made flesh and dwelt among us. He is God in the flesh, the one true living God, and we will all answer to Him.

@@divyavichar Discrimination may continue by "upper caste Christians" just like there is favouritism in western churches. Those people are acting exactly the opposite of how God tells them to treat others. In other words, castes and favoritism is sin.

Because there is a true religion, Islam and Christianity disagrees on the essentials of the nature of Christ. So only one of them is true, it's either Christianity,.where Christ is God or Islam where Christ is only a prophet. Since this is a Christian video, then Islam is a false religion. If you go to a Muslim page then, Christianity is false. BTW I am a Christian and Jesus Christ is God.

Because of his many contradictions and lies, also because of the fact that history seems to « magically » change in the Islam faith just to justify their beliefs For example there are plenty of verses saying that god is a deceiver and a liar who not only tricks the non believers but also the believers, which contradicts the fact that he is the truth, the way and the light Also the devil is depicted as the father of lies, so how is it that in a sacred religion they claim that god is a liar but at the same time the truth But there are many more examples of why it is a false religion If you want I can explain more 😊
