I've had a bad experience with the Razer Hammerhead True Wireless (normal version), so I'm now very reluctant to pay more for the "Pro" version. Especially with the difficulty in returning headphones in Canada. There is a policy where they will only take headphones back if they haven't been open yet. My first set that I got at best buy, had trouble charging one ear. Within the same week, it stopped working all together. Took it back to Bestbuy, and luckily they were willing to exchange it for another set. The 2nd set.. the right ear would not charge right out of the box. Yes, I fully charged them and yes I tried to troubleshoot them (both pairs). Just a quick lookup and you can see razer wireless in-ear headphones have heaps of issues in general, mostly for having the exact same issue I've experienced. I went back and convinced them to give me credit instead (Best buy gift card). It has all the features I want (low latency, wireless, etc..), but I'm not ready to go through X amount of batches to find a pair that works, let alone pay more than double for a "Pro" version.

Razor bought THX so I don't know how much that certification really means when they're certifying themselves. But I haven't tried this until I can't speak to the quality. I do have the one more earbuds that are THX certified

The companies still operate separately from a business perspective, so I'm pretty sure THX has to maintain their reputation for certifications and ensure the product is up to spec and not just give a freebie passing grade, otherwise it would hurt THX's side of the business/brand.

You really should've mentioned the volume on these. They are LOUD! Much louder than the airpod Pros. In my testing the pros at 100% volume are about the equivelent of 75% on these. I just wish these fit my ears as well as the airpod pros.

I have owned them for almost 2 years now and had to replace them with warranty 4 times!!! They last about 2-3 months and the sound starts loosing volume to where you can't hear anything. I will say the anc is nice and when you can hear them, they sound decent. I also bought my wife the pro versions and it lost sound on the left earbud in less than a month. I own a lot of other Razer products and do not have a problem with them but these have way too many problems for the price.

Mine did get quieter too but it turned out it was just that the speakers got clogged after i cleaned that they returned to the previous volume

Great review thanks again. Speaking of going back I see that the Mefo 05 now has a plus model with upgraded firmware type-c charging some other stuff are you familiar with this? There's a lot of complaints about low volume are companies starting to limit the volume? 🤔🇺🇲💯 And the Air pod pros have the best set-up with the controls I wish more companies would do this.

It's not that the Razer buds are underrated; Apple people buy Apple products. It makes no difference that there are so many earbuds better and cheaper than Airpod Pros. Apple could have sold them for $350 and been wildly successful.

Yup i have never seen cosutmer loyalty higher then the people that buy apple aspecialy with the airoods. Apple buyers try to justify it with the functions the apple airpods have but then the razer hanmerhead tws pros have way more functions if you download the app.

After buying the Razer hummer head wired USB C and try them I will never trust and Buy anything from razer Again as it was a very disappointing experience interms of sound while gaming, I have hyper X wired earbuds which is cheaper and I was very impressed with the sound while gaming!the sound volume is almost double the one on Razer and it's crystal clear while the razer is normal and the sound volume is low compared to the hyper X Buds! And I recently bought flydigi Cyber fox T1 for 60$ with gaming mode , the volume is fine but I was really impressed with the gaming mode as they claim it's 60ms but from my experience it's 0 without any lag while gaming or at least I didn't feel it! Ok there is no wireless charging or noice canceling but I blv that all gamers don't look for these two options, they only look for the quality of the sound while gaming which impressed me in the flydigi earbuds!

I haven’t used my Hammerhead Pros to listen to music so I can’t speak to that. But when using them for gaming I found the sound to be decent at best, for $200 I expected much better sound quality. The ANC is absolutely worthless, and I can’t use the app to adjust any settings while I’m using the earbuds and they’re connected to my ps5. If there’s a way to connect my AirPods to my ps5 I would gladly do so and sell the Hammerheads.

I just got mine about 2 days ago.. I was thinking of getting the new Huawei Freebuds 5 or the Hammerhead X.. Im not into ANC, I dont like it, I like hearing everything outside while listening to music.. I only Got the Huawei Freelace to compare in my experience so theres not much.. also i'm a Huge Huawei Bias cause they're really good at everything. The Freelace is awesome but as I said its ANC and didnt like it but everything is great on the freelace, the battery last 48hours of continous playing so I was thinking of getting the Huawei Freebuds 5 but then I came across of the Hammer head X and its much cheaper.. and so I did it, I got the Hammerhead X, so far I don't have a problem with it but it would be better if it has wireless charging..

The Airpods Pro sound better. In reality, the Airpods Pro sound more natural and have better vocal performance. Due to some adaptive eq processing the Airpods Pro sounds a bit meshed together and therefor less distinc in instruments and its a bit slow. The Bass on the Razer’s is just boomy and messy and spills into the midrange. The treble on the Razer’s lacks low treble sparkle and has a mid treble focused treble and gives them rather a V shaped sound signature which is good for gaming. The Airpods pro only have a slight bump in the mids from 400-600 hz which makes them a bit muddy. The Airpods Pro have a nicely boosted lower bass. The Airpods pro are more accurate but lack precision unlike the The Lypertek Tevi or the Etymotic ER2XR.

I think the problem with these earbuds is their overly gamer-oriented design and their price. 90% of people who are in the Apple ecosystem will prefer to buy Airpods-Pro at this price, and those who are on Android will prefer to buy earbuds that have the Adaptive APTX with gaming mode than easily found for less than $ 50.
