Well when my twin made eye contact everything just stopped and we both felt how raw we were and the love was intense. This is my current situation rn.. I got a great example: Told my friend of 11 years she was my TF. Got blocked everywhere and then had the police show up at my house the very next day with a verbal no contact order. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect her to go thru those measures to reject the connection! We were always platonic but I know there was mutual attraction there. We had that psychic connection, (I would think of something and she would say or do it right after and she would comment on how do we do that) and the push/pull dynamic. I can’t believe how willing I was to go on a date with any douchebag I wasn’t into, but I fell super hard for my twin, wanted to be with him more than anything and when he asked me out, I ended up chickening out and canceling. It all seemed too good to be true and I felt so unworthy of him. I think I really hurt him and I can’t fix it. He took my cancelling as a rejection and then rewrote the narrative to “I only ever thought of you as a friend.” That hurts the most. In my mind it was too good to be true, I felt unworthy and had so much anxiety, I was still leaving a long term abusive relationship that had ripped my confidence to shreds, I stressed out that I wouldn’t be good enough, that I had nothing nice to wear or that he just wanted to take me to drinks and use me for sex. I’ve been abused a lot and I have a lot of trauma. He was also my teacher and I was absolutely pissed off he asked me out while I was still his student. I felt disrespected. I’ve never cancelled a date in my life. But no, it wasn’t to hurt him. I was scared and unsure and wasn’t in a good mental space at the time. I hope that helps.
