I am so glad we are on the same wave about this book. Everyone keeps hyping up Miss Freida and I cannot take it anymore. This book was AWFUL. The leaves, the blaming of a 16yo girl, the crusty poem! And all the glee parallels have me screaming.

I tried to read this at the start of the year and had to DNF it like I don't think I will ever be able to read another Freida McFadden book again because this book was so crusty!!! like the blaming of a teenager, the weird disordered eating talk, the POEM and then everything else like stopppp 😑 Also I love the way you talk like the enthusiasm is so infectious I love your videos!!!

I clicked so fast. My relationship with Freida McFadden is rocky...like it's causing road closures. They're boulders. They're a safety hazard. I'm here for a rant. To be fair, I need to read some of her earlier work before she started pumping out 70 books a year. What even was the point of the whole Art plot? Couldn't Addie have been bullied for some other reason? Was it meant to set her up to be a bad guy because quite frankly, yeah, it's bad to flirt with a teacher but it's something else altogether for a teacher to fall for it. Her whole past seems unnecessary tbh, even the whole dad thing. 24:11 - I'm not surprised this was the big twist.

The only other book I read by her was The Inmate and remember really liking it at the time See I agree with you 1000% I feel like maybe it would make more sense if she had malicious intent for murdering her dad otherwise there is no reason for her to be considered "dangerous" or even bad. She really didn't do anything wrong imo (except the whole frying pan incident that came later) Poor girl just needed a stable parental figure and some therapy 😩 !!! I was shook!!! The Teacher is my least favorite of the books I've read by Freida McFadden, I enjoyed The Housemaid, The Inmate and The Coworker. Great rant. Have you read My Dark Vanessa. a better take on teacher and underage student relationships? The plot of The Teacher is rather implausible and Nate is such a creep.
