Why are we discussing Bethel so much?

When the dead were raised in the Bible there wasn’t a church service for it. All it takes is one person to pray over her for God to bring her back and if it didn’t happen that day then that’s it. Even one day after would make sense. Why worship and pray for 6 days?

My understanding of prayer declarations goes like this: God has provided his power for us to use. This power lies in the spiritual realm. It needs to come into the physical realm. So if you want to be healed of a sickness, or to raise someone from the dead, then you have to move this power from the spiritual world to the physical one. This is achieved through declarative prayer - the use of special words declaring a new reality moves this power from the spiritual to the physical. However, there needs to be a space that exists, a sort of gap, between the physical and spiritual worlds. Through praise and great faith, this gap opens wider, allowing the power to move from the spiritual to the physical. The words of declarative prayer then shape this power into reality. So just sit back and think this through: a Spiritual power just waiting to be used, an individual or a group of people then access this power through frenzied activity, and bring the power into being through the use of spiritual words and sentences. There is another word for this process: Magic.

This was very hard to watch! I love Bethel they are a powerhouse of Faith builders who stand on Gods word! Thanks for revealing that to me even more! Sorry you haven’t experienced His Glory in that same manner!

Bethel is NOT biblical. There are many things wrong with the church and I pray your eyes are opened. At least look at Holly's other videos on it (as well as Fighting for the Faith and Justin Peters) and look into the Word closely for yourself. We are not to chase signs and wonders and roll on the floor uncontrollably when the Holy Spirit moves, just to name a couple examples. Bill Johnson has preached heresy about the trinity and Jesus. Please do some more research apart from this short video. I come from a church similar and I know how hard it is to take emotion out of it when examining things but we should always seek to defend the gospel, not a pastor.

Oh honeyb.. I understand the pull of these things and have experienced God’s amazing grace and forgiveness when he freed me from these types of teachings. When the realization fully hit me as to what I was actually studying under.. the dam of tears broke. He was there to pick up the pieces and to help me rebuild my faith from His Word. Truth matters.. pray and ask for the truth and truth alone and he will reveal this to you.. May the Lord bless you, sister. It is a hard road to leave these worldly things, but one journey that is well worth the anguish.. truth brings freedom.

@@tray4023 amen. I was the same as you. These NAR and charismatic churches look down on non-charasmatics like we don't have enough faith or don't have the Holy Spirit which is so wrong!

@honeyb384. A power house? The leader's declared Redding as a cancer free zone. Believe Johnson died from cancer. The above mentioned little girl who died despite the prayer declarations....and it's "experience" that seduces people into following Bethel. I've had quite enough of "experiencing his glory" myself. Glad I'm out of that theological hypocrisy.

Name It and Claim It prayer this has been around since at least the seventies. A lot of bad teaching that is appealing to cultic mindsets
