I just wanted to share with you and your family that you posting your lives on KZbin does mean a lot to me. And I’d like you to share that with Avalon and Largo. With grown children of my own I know that the kids sometimes don’t always “get” what we as adults are passionate about. But about a month ago I had my fifth knee surgery. A total knee this time. The others were back when I was a teenager. This had been a lot harder to endure in many ways. Without having inspiring stories like your families I think I would be very depressed. It is my goal to RV about Europe just as your family is doing someday.So truly everything you share is interesting to me. So thank your family for me when they wait up for you to get the perfect drone footage and when they smile so sweetly while having a snack lunch amid a field of wheat or beautiful poppy flowers instead making a “face” like I know kids can kids can do to their parents. They are super kids. While I do my therapy exercises three times a day watching your videos distracts me from my pain and also inspires me to do better for my own future excursions! God bless and thank you!

Your welcome Cindy! So glad you are enjoying them. When we first started doing them I was so hesitant as I guard our privacy fearlessly, but I also wanted to share a different way of life. Honestly, now I cannot image our life without this community. Minus one or two trolls everyone is so kind and helpful and supportive. We get so much from all of you in this journey as well. Ha, well the kids do have their "face" moments, fights and disagreements with us. We choose not to show them in order to protect their privacy, but I do think all of this is normal child behavior and I don't ever want to stop them from doing it. However, they are incredibly patient with our filming and for that I am grateful. I hope they will cherish these vlogs for many years to come. I truly wish you a speedy and fruitful recovery so you can get out there and accomplish those dreams. Being in pain is not fun, but know that we are rooting for you over here in Spain. I will take some big steps for you tomorrow with my blister feet on the camino. Buen Camino. xoxo. And thanks for your honest and thoughtful comment.

Wow, Avalon seems like such an awesome kid (or young adult if she prefers). I think it would be really interesting to hear her talk about what her expectations on growing up and what becoming an adult is like. I mean, I admire those who are able to become mature and responsible and still keep their “childishness” and their honest view of the world. And for some reason I see that in her. Largos seems pretty cool too. As always, thanks for sharing a part of your world with us on KZbin ❤️

She is very mature, but is still very young in so many ways. Ways that I think should stay young forever. I hope she never losing that playfulness. I love your question and if she feels like talking about it on camera I will share it on YT. She has a very honest and pure view of the world which is so refreshing. I hope she never loses that. Largo is very cool as well. They are so very different in all the good ways which makes a great compliment to their friendship. Thank you for your thoughtful comment.

Jessica Sueiro Yes, it sure is refreshing! What shines through the lens, at least what I think I see in her, is a confidence that seems both strong and humble. I wish I had some of that at her age! Very inspirational 🙌

Oh my goodness do we need a break. The problem with the packs is that they are so heavy. Our fault, but the pain of taking putting it back prevents me (Will) from wanting to take it off during the mini breaks. The kids and Jessica are better about it than I am. We are in Leon now and will take a rest day tomorrow. Time to catch up on sleep and get another video edited for Sunday. All the best and thanks for your support. We really appreciate it.

Be a hero, take a zero(day)! Started following your channel as I want to walk part of the Way in October, and the rest next spring, so I'm interested in the weather and conditions this year. Thanks for adding all of the pertinent information, you're the only ones I've seen so far that actually show the terrain, the towns, and the condition of the hostels. Really useful information. Have begun viewing your older vlogs from when you all fist arrived in France. Am enjoying watching the kids grow up, especially Avalon. From a little girl to a young woman, they do grow up so fast! Anyway, keep on keeping on! Buen Camino!

So much to say. Jess love your pig tails. Will you are so funny (“kids are gone, let’s hike the other way” “like how much stronger my arm is getting from holding this thing”). Largo I am so impressed with for one so young (and the only real kid in the family, Ava! 😉), he is always in good spirits. Ava sounds amazing with being the trip coordinator (love it, that’s my job). Also loved Ava’s wine glass of water - great way to drink it! - Chica / Jen

Ha, dirty hair looks so good in pig tails! I know, Will is so funny. It is hard to get alone time on the trail, I am sure you understand this more than us. Largo is very good natured unless you try to take his donut and then look out. Avalon is the only one who likes the trip planning so I am happy she is obsessed with it, otherwise we might be lost all the time. Ha. Thanks for your support. I really cannot wait until you guys get out here. xoxo

What an amazing time you are having! Such fun to watch. My husband and I did the Camino when he was 70 and I was 65. You have definitely started us thinking about doing it again 5 years later. It can be so tiring to walk such long distances that you might consider staying in a hostel every week or so. That way you get good sleep and privacy for showers, naps etc. And sending some of the weight ahead seemed to help you all : ). Keep up the adventure. We LOVE watching.

"Kids?! You mean kiddd!!!!!!" hahaha I have got this feeling that Avalon secretly loves the Camino more than everybody else :D
@jsueiro1
@jsueiro1 6 жыл бұрын
Avalon is an interesting bird with the camino. She was the least excited to come since she is not a fan of exercise and prefers to read books and do creative projects. She despises the camino on hot days and when we wait too long to eat (she is a foodie), but she loves the time in nature to let her mind wander and be free. She likes her space and bed, but has come to really get excited about "where will we sleep tonight" and she embraces the differences. I agree, she secretly loves it! I think she needed this the most of all of us as she is a super focused student and often gets too caught up in it.

It is a daily occurrence. Every day after we stop, we have blister checks on the kids and they are clean every day. Largo had a little one for a day or two, but that's it. We are so fortunate that the kids have been healthy. Jessica and I can walk though a blister or two, but we do not want to have the experience ruined for the kids because of pain. Thanks.

Compelling viewing, as always :) I have an indelicate question so feel free to ignore... I am wondering about bathroom breaks. It is the one component of the trail that is hard to find info about. I could feel your tiredness on this video after such an incredible hike the day before. I have to say, it blows my mind that I am feeling so invested in your journey - the power of social media I guess. I am on a small island in the Hauraki Gulf - off the coast of New Zealand and you are in Northern Spain and we have never met, yet I'm worrying about your blisters :) Vlogging/video really is an phenomenal medium.
@jsueiro1
@jsueiro1 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for taking care and concern for our blisters. It think about them all the time. Frankly, blister talk is a frequent topic of conversation on the camino, at dinner (I know, yuck), etc. Ha. Thanks so much for investing time in our family and adventure. We feel the same way about this community. We are all in it together and having everyone cheering us on is so helpful, social media is cool like that. As for the bathrooms. We come into a town every 3-4 hours and we get a coffee and use the bathroom. If we can't wait we go in the wild. It is easy for the boys and going #1. #2 has only occurred on the trail once by one of us and it was easy, not comfortable, but easy enough to find a bush to hide behind.

Hi dorpie. This is quite the challenge to get a video out daily. We had thought that it would be possible , but then we realized that we wold be missing out on a part of the experience beyond the walk - Sleep! These videos take between 6-10 hours to create (from edit, to publishing). I work on them usually every night, but sometimes, the social aspect of the camino comes calling and it is hard to resist. I think we have a good balance, and we will be editing the last two or three weeks after we are off the trail, but for now we are still on the trail. We are about half way done at this point. It is a great experience.

Have u ever lost the trail. I see in places it’s marked well but maybe not in towns? Are the hostiles easily found and close to the trail? On average how many days does it take to walk the complete trail? And what would it be in miles. Thanks!! I’m tired for you all! 😍
@jsueiro1
@jsueiro1 6 жыл бұрын
This is a great question! Only once for 2 minutes. It is amazing how well it is marked. It is almost like a game, when we can't find a yellow arrow or shell and then we see it tucked away on a brick, or tree trunk or slab of random cement. Hostels are super easy to find. When you enter a town the municipal is the most affordable and most times they have a sign with directions right there or you just follow other pilgrims and someone has memorized the guide book. Most people do the trial in 35 days with 2 rest days, but we have seen some do it in 31 and others in 2 months. On average for the 35 day itinerary you would go between 20-30km a day, on average 25k or 16 miles. Love your questions.

Man we are trying to watch this as a series but the Music is way too LOUD.. When you take any artists track they tend to record it HOT, close to 0db, you can't just take that track and dump it on your timeline ( I see you're using Premiere) If you do the sound of your voices will be naturally about -3 to -6db and when the music comes on it's WAY TOO LOUD. you need to adjust that sound down at leas -6.. It's really ruining the ability to watch the series. If you ever get chance to re edit these videos sort the sound out. And a much more personal note, I am guessing Jessica choose the tracks, no man could listen to it but that Shania Twain type, Hairbrush singing, hair shaking housework music is just Awful in our opinion, it just doesn't reflect a beautiful walk across Spain. You can't just choose music, off your ipod, that you wash dishes to and drop them in a video without any consideration to the scene. Now if it hadn't been so damn loud, it might have slid by but my Partner and I were just watching this series back to back and frankly, at first, it was OK? but after a few episodes, I find myself reaching for the mute and in the end we just stopped watching. Sorry to be critical but the Music ruined for us a really fantastically filmed, possibly the best Camino series on the web. Please consider remaster the series with better sound and bit bit less Girl Power more country road style of soundtrack.. Sorry ...
