Prince’s actual aesthetic for makeup was grungy, purple and not super crazy. I think people get his clothing style and wild stage presence confused with the makeup. UD worked with his actual artist to make it authentic for him.

I think what’s getting forgotten is that Prince fans are more Gen X than Gen Z. As such, most people who purchase these products because it’s Prince are probably over 40 and not wearing bright colours the same way. Also muted colour and no makeup/makeup is trendy right now, so am not surprised it’s less “Bam!” than people were expecting.

I’m sorry I’m 45 and I’m so disappointed with this. I was so ready to buy this whole collection but it’s boring as hell. The colors, the packaging, everything about it. I was ready for something to reflect his overall image and style and I was ready for some really fun purple, grays, grunge type colors. It looks so boring....especially that top row of eyeshadows. Yikes. I’m so surprised it’s less than “BAM!” UGHHHHHHH....SO DISAPPOINTED!

Those Prince palettes scream Zoeva to me! Lol. I wish benefit did two different palettes, one for light/medium skin and one for dark and took the hoola toasted out of the lighter palette and the hoola light out of the darker palette and included the hoola glow in both instead of the dark or light shade. I actually want to try hoola glow.

I agree! I did just get the new Hoola Glow ✨ Bronzer and I have to say it’s so beautiful and much more of a creamy type Hoola not dry at all and it’s not so glowy that you look like you have glitter all over your face.

I got divorced when I was 46....after 20 year of being with my husband. It was hard at the beginning ....it is was hard to move forward but I did it and it’s the best decision I took. I totally agree with your thoughts on the UD x Prince collab. I was SOOOOO excited for this launch, and i was underwhelmed. I thought the palette(s) would be bolder, grungier, edgier, PURPLE-er, and just overall a lot more exciting. Also, where is the purple eyeliner? And purple lip? They played it safe on this one, and it makes me sad. Prince lived eccentrically, bravely, and unapologetically, and this collection is just too...normal. 🙁

There were some cute releases this week. I liked the new Colourpop collection. I also was interested in the Sol Body tinted moisturizer & their bronzer. I think those products would be awesome to wear at our lake this summer. Always looking for light makeup I can just throw on out there. I personally like the Hoola bronzer, but i hate the box packaging; at lest this is flat. Another bonus to this particular item is that (at least for me) it provides various shades, so i'll have shades for different occasions/looks/seasons. Galactomyces ferment extract is what is in the sk-ii really expensive essence! Cosrx has a dupe that I swear by, but the good molecule has that AND glycolic acid!
