Bendy bus for the feeder services and DD for long haul trunk route

Double Deck buses are good especially for longer trunk routes (like Bus 43, 50, 51, 88, 109 and 147) that can help to reduce crowds during peak hours

43M and 114 need DD during peak hour. 43M is always crowded at Serangoon MRT area and 114 is also crowded at Buangkok MRT

All the EV orders is SD,LTA should opt for the new ADL E500ev…Enoughof the Zhongtongs,BYD,Yutongs…They should consider a few articulate buses for airport and short distance high loading feeder service too.

Even as someone who doesn’t like the upper deck of DDs and prefers single decks, I understand that the rest of us would prefer DDs and this is really a concern…

Can we talk about how Serangoon bus services (109, 103 and 101) have so few DDs? During peak hours, 109 and 103 get really packed and not to mention, the frequencies are bad. 43M needs DDs, moderate demand even during non-peak hours. The problem is that it somehow always shares the same schedule as 43, which is ridiculous. If they space out the schedule fairly well, the demand would be distributed quite okay.

109 had it's short-trip service during the evening peak hours (109A) but kind of wish it would be extended to serve the Sengkang General Hospital area instead of ending at Hougang Avenue 4

Well 300 have a history of using only bendy buses only as far as I can remember. So naturally smrt substitute bendy buses for double decker.And there always a demand on both 300 and 301 during morning and evening peak periods hence the need of a bendy bus.Also to add on with the introduction of 983 it helps to reduce the amount of people by plying the same first 3 bus stop where alot of people get off.

Agree on the point of not deploying DDs on useless bus services. I also think some bus route variants like 859A/B and 912A/B should be discontinued. It just doesn't make sense when I see 912 and 912a bunching up sometimes😅

The point of having those A/B is to supplement the parent svc that have high loadings and lack of high capacity buses

Nice Video! I agree that the weekend demand for some bus services during peak hours is really crazy and deploying single-decker buses makes it even worse. I do not understand why the bus operators do not want to use the double-decker buses on routes with lower demand during weekends. It is really bad to see that the bus is so crowded and as a commuter, I hate it when I need to squeeze into a small single-decker bus and have to stand without a seat.

Some long haul bus services is critical in handling the load. While at instances dd is no longer needed due to availability of other modes of transportation, we need to set aside some dds for peak hour. There is no need to cut long haul bus service unfortunately if the long haul is deemed essential (30,67), just need to supplement it with some SDs and the DDs redeployed to service that needed it

184 should need deploy some high capacity buses as well during weekends and PHs.... This route runs full SD fleet outside weekdays and at times weekends can be strong demand too. By the way, more bendy buses are needed...LTA has to change their stubborn mindset of not purchasing new bendies.... E citaro Or E man bendies are good enough

You know tib1234t the region with the most wasted dd is toa payoh & Amk depot. Only service 8, 21, 50, 52, 88, 157 & 410 is always on demand too crowded. The rest is just not so highly on demand. 13, 25, 55, 58, 59, 72 will eventually be given to serangoon/eunos & bedok & tampines bus package. Yes let's just wait for these 2 depot to be closed & moved to seletar depot. That's why always not enough dd.

With 22, 54, 56, 86, 125, 139, 186 having dd & both amk depot & toa payoh depot both each have 10 spare dd's that' s why many regions don't have enough dd buses. Sg5904y- sg5907p, sbs3814a, sg5434L recently given to amk depot it brings too many wastage coming from these 2 old depot right

I bet all the 851 sds should be replaced with DD buses and around 5 SDs should crossover duing the off-peak hours as 851 is packed during the evening peak as there are LITERAL SEDEP DDS ON 804, 806, 807, 811 aAND 812. They should deploy the 121 DDs onto either 123 or 5 because they are packed too.
