I am curious on service 27 too. Last time I saw Scania buses on this service, but suddenly it became a full fleet of Citaros for the past few years hahaha

Merge 371 and 374 terminate at SWDEP 😂 What if planners weren’t categorised into small sub zones? What if it is planners divided into their respective regions in SG (North, West etc). How would bus services look like then, if not less feeders?

The downfall of the LTA planning team is that they never take note of the feedbacks from residents. Look what happened to 944 and 992 for example. Its quite a chaotic situation. You will see irate residents complaining about how bad the services is. All we need is people who understand what the local residents want and those working in the area and not just having something that looks good on paper to plan.

Rather than intro trunk service, enhance lah the bus services which has low ridership. Sorry I need to quote Svc 852 coz it is rumoured to be withdrawn. Extend to tengah and ply that bus stop before Le quest where former Svc 944 serve. Too many feeders also no point, parking space in int is a factor.

82 is no such exception, only deploying SDs, as opposed to 43M for a Punggol-Serangoon Ctrl route.

Rubbish, 12m is just 12m unless they trained for 12.5m it's just GAS doesn't want to deploy DD as the other operators there also use SD.

33 cannot deploy DDs due to the turning radius issue at Tembeling Rd and Joo Chiat Pl, or that was what I was told by a friend who had enquired with LTA on the lack of DDs years ago. 57, 175 and 195 cannot deploy DDs due to low-lying branches along Depot Rd, though this has never been officially confirmed. Apparently the low-branches issue is also present at Telok Blangah Dr/heights/St 32, hence services like 120, 124 and 273 cannot deploy DDs.

No wonder 124 never had DDs. The service is stuffed like sardines between Whampoa and Orchard. If only they would run a peak-time short route service with DDs up to the CBD.

922 DD will supplement 920 on certain timings and as for now 922 loadings is obviously more than 920

Hmmm.... For Svc 27, now majority of the airport bus service all deploys Mercs Buses except for Svc 858 (dunno whether Svc 36 got deploy MAN A22 euro 6 buses or not... Last time Svc 16 cannot serve DDs.. now Svc 16 can serve DDs... Like Svc 269, how come no DDs to serve this service? Last time can what the Leyland Atlantean served on 269 (3 of them)

I may like for this bus packages: Serangoon-Eunos Bus Package Sengkang-Hougang Bus Package Bishan-Toa Payoh Bus Package Yio Chu Kang Bus Package Selatar Bus Package To remain in SBS Transit, while Tampines and Bedok and Clementi bus packages will likely change to new operator.

for some reason I feel goahead may leave singapore... coming from london in a goahead dominated area goahead didn't change their singapore logo and didn't bid for seletar, considering seletar was the first bus package bid exercise after goahead changed ownership. goahead also sold their germany business to austrian OBB recently

I think either SMRT or Go-Ahead will win Tampines region. That operator SMRT previously lost most of the bus packages in the Norther region and won it's first chance in Jurong West in September 2024, so they might secure it's first bus operations in the East aside from Service 61, 67 and 110. Otherwise, since Go Ahead seems the best bus operator in Singapore than SBST and SMRT due to least accidents and breakdown records in their bus services operations so it should be the one securing Tampines then either SBST or SMRT Buses secure East Coast Region.

Go ahead can win but Loyang will goes to SBST OR SMRT depending who wins the CRL.LTA might also award CCK-BPJ to GA too.Sengkang I think LTA just extend 2 years for SBST and there is a chance for both SMRT and TTS should SBST win CRL which I in favour of it Enough of SMRT rail dominance which hasn't shown any improvement or what.Just give SMRT Sengkang and forget about CRL.

Heard LCS1 & LCS2 are not BCM route. These duo might scrap after CRL open. But if LTA allows these two to stay, high chance operate as a private ops

Go-Ahead had better win this one, because if they lose Loyang in future, at least they will still have another package, instead of just leaving SG.

Go Ahead so far has been trying real hard. Out of the 3, they seem to be the ones that don’t get into an accident so far or get a driver “stomped” over some random shit. The fact they have already established themselves for 10 years in the east shows that they can operate the east. I predict a high chance that Go Ahead will win and I know they will def do what it takes to kick out SBST and to end their aging monopoly, because clearly SBST isn’t doing very well(look at their accidents record) and although there will be a chance they gonna win(government or LTA intervention or loving them), it may not be as so high, if they can lose to SMRT and TTS.

Even if other operator wins Tampines, I think there will be some services that will remain under SBS in other regions. Service 10 and 65 will probably go to Ulu Pandan, while service 18 will go to Bedok. As for service 39, it could probably go to TTS under Mandai seeing that 969 that’s under Mandai also has operations in Tampines.

Yes, got less breakdown but the manpower and the long frequency also plays a part in operating in a region. Dead Milage should put into consideration for LTA as BCs need to drive so far.. Nowdays, mental wellness and well-being of bus captain should also take into priority.

Honestly, Tower Transit deserves the win as there’s hardly any buses by them in the Tampines area. Also, Tampines is too close to Loyang so if Go Ahead ever wins something, it might be Gali Batu as to have operators varying in different parts of SG

I think Go Ahead should use Tampines region while SBST or SMRT use East Coast region. Either that, or SMRT may run Tampines region after losing many bus packages in the Seletar and Mandai region for the second time aside from winning the Jurong West region in 2024.

While the CRL operator has not awarded yet (currently), SBST should try to have more bids to have high chance to operate this line and since they also had the experience of operating with 'overhead catenary' (which the CRL will have) currently used only on NEL but SMRT never have. And if they cannot manage to retain this bus package, that's ok (after from the Jurong West situation) they can try to win for the CRL instead

It would rather that the Tampines Bus Package would either be run by Go Ahead or SMRT if they win against SBST for that. I just thought that SMRT Buses may have it's first bus operations in the Eastern part of Singapore aside from Service 110 after SMRT lost many bus packages in the Northern region since 2021, and win the bus packages for the first time in Jurong West in 2024.
