I can accept it sometimes when it's used as a sound effect. But I suffer when they try to fool people to believe that they are better singers than they actually are. It doesn't sound good. It sounds worse than plain AI.

Seriously, before reaction videos were even a thing, I saw that video and even upon first listen my face scrunched into a the contours of a shammy towel at the instant it's being wrung up, as I detected the unmistakable, but entirely loathsome, signature timbre of AUTOTUNE. It took me ONE listen, and I'm not even a specialist in this stuff. What's wrong with these people? To me, the performance is bordering on unlistenable. Sorry, it's crap. Melissa, happy new year!
