It's easy to be a GM support, more than diamond or masters. Her MMR is literally hardstuck at the top and I seen her throwing afudas and stuff at walls and tping into death and going off the map on lucio barely paying attention to the game. When are people going to learn overwatch is just a game of luck and how many hours you're willing to play to gamble for that match maker luck? If you have like 1k hours on an account and it's diamond, just delete that account and start over or you'll be spending thousands more. She literally gets carried in most games by extremely good dps and tanks, and makes half baked efforts to clutch stuff usually leading into just feeding on overtime. The amount of actual game winning plays she does is very low, and honestly she doesn't need to do much of anything except not die and do some damage/heals. I been looking for dirt on aspen for a while, and most players don't realize how the match making algorithm works, what solidifies MMR vs rank, when MMR is too high for a rank and it causes derank streaks (yes having high mmr for your rank will cause the game to give you braindead teammates with lower mmr very consistently and in return you get hardstuck plat-master). This begins after initial calibrations and modifiers are finished after placements. You'll see you drop a solid 5 ranks after placements, usually the case. The placements look at your skill, and keep raising your MMR, and forcing your rank to raise too. It's an anti-smurf measure by blizzard. The real fun begins once the calibrations period runs out, and the game starts placing you on much worse teams as a "balancing factor" as I'd call it. The matchmaker's goal is to "balance" the average MMR per team, and because your MMR is high, you'll get the low MMR players in your rank and just flop every game after that, going on massive 5-10 defeat streaks that are absolutely insanity. "Oh but kurikat what about the unranked to GM videos I see?" Well those are explained if you realize they are cherry picked. Those accounts for the unranked-gm videos, if you didn't notice usually have other roles like tank/dps/support that are stuck in diamond or whatever. Those are failed unranked-gm videos. ONLY the successful ones go thru, which take about 10 hours, and are done in 1 sitting. It's totally up to luck they place high diamond or so, then calibrations kick in and they can shoot up thru and passed masters to gm5. Those videos aren't a real educational usage at all, other than to learn basics of a hero and some decision making that can carry you to diamond-master hardstuck. There's a lot wrong with this game, and with streamers like this. As for streamers and creators, people like.. I dont know... hmm.. I don't even like ML7 but his aim is magnitudes better than aspen's. Gale's is even better than ML7's, and he straight up carries lobbies on any role. And I don't really care for bogur or awkward or the others, but even they are better (maybe not awkward he just smurfs). This whole game is delusional, and the match maker is to blame. It doesn't push the players with high mechanical skill and the ones who want to win to the top, instead penalizes them, and ranks up mediocre players in support instead. Do you wanna know why? Oh kurikat, you're full of it, cope seethe gitgud, you might say. Back to the MMR issue where MMR is too high or too low for rank, if it doesn't adjust at the same rate as your rank, then the game induces win/loss streaks. It takes thousands of hours to rebound from it seasonally if you have unlucky placements (mid-plat anything or below). Your MMR (skill) dictates just how BAD of teammates you get, and consistently will give you unwinnable game after unwinnable over and over until your MMR drops to you rank, which ALSO is dropping at the same time, so it's a doubled down effect. You ever notice you are deranking, yet your enemies seem to be getting harder to win against? Yes that's it in effect. Most players then get to the point they have to literally solo/final kill 2-3 players every team fight to win those games, which has about a 25-35% error rate of match predictability because the MMR/Rank scale issue. So basically ONCE you're at top 500/GM/Chamion, you WILL stay there as long as you can pump out the heals/damage/kda average of the rank, regardless of your actual play ability and clutches. Players like Aspen are a fraud, and lets be real people were throwing games for her on that #1 support garbage.
