I had the same thought process. went for associates...had my hospital pay me through bsn and masters...and the 7 years of experience i gained while I was going to school was advantageous in getting my entry level job as a mid level clinician.

. I am currently taking my pre-nursing classes before my BSN, and yes, I hear some hospitals will pay for the BSN. I am currently turning 25 as a single mother. I want more. Thank you for the great advice 💕💕

If you are very young, no dependents, and have the financial means (and making money is not your primary goal) get your BSN enjoy the 4 years. If you have dependents, husband need the money to live ADN. To me time is what is important. If I was 18 and life was not life-ing. I would be enjoying campus life. Yes it’s true RN is RN but if you are really young you are going to want a BSN then A masters and a stack of certifications. Which bring the higher salaries with less physical work. Yes you can get it down the road but when the checks start rolling in you won’t want to stop and do it AND your facility needs you to get the BSN to keep credentials. Just my opinion. I think it is what the snapshot of your life looks like at the moment you want to go to school.
@KimmyDTV4 ай бұрын
yes, I agree with that- at 18, if you definitely know you want to do RN and you can afford BSN why not get it over with and enjoy the 4 years of University! 100% agree!

This is starting to change again. People started looking for two year programs because they are starting to realize you do not need a bsn unless you want it or you really need it
@Chauhanlix2 күн бұрын
Hi good morning! I need your professional opinion. My family is going through a rough time. I'm about to graduate with my basics this may. Should i get an adn first save up and get the experience ? Or should i go straight into a bsn program? I really want my bsn to purse my dream of becoming a nurse practitioner. Some people are telling me to go ahead since if i take the bsn path I'll be done within 2 years. Or if i take the adn path I'll also take 1½ to 2 years to finish. Most importantly i dont have much money to pay for achool, but i am doing work study and have a little bit of money saved. Thanks i appreciate it if you read through my story.

I already have my BA from Morgan state. I want my RN from a community college in an accelerated program. My question is god willing I get in and pass, would I still need to get a BSN in order to pursue higher levels of education like the MSN,CRNA/NP route?
@virgostar11.11Күн бұрын
From my understanding the accelerated nursing program is only at university. Timeframe 12-16 months

I have an associate in applied science degree what is the best next step to do to become a Rn?
@simplylillitarot Жыл бұрын
I have a BS from Capella in Psych. I’m wanting to go the ADN route because I’m hoping with my existing degree I can finish faster. Community colleges near me want me to take extra classes. Do you recommend CNA course? I have a caregiver job but the environment is 🚮
@KimmyDTV Жыл бұрын
Hmm well I you don’t HAVE to get your CNA- this is totally up to you. I recommend getting the base classes that you need for mostly all RN programs and than applying to the colleges that meet your needs.. when you say extra do you mean like anatomy class or sociology? Because almost all nursing programs require these classes. So I would look at all of the commmunity college nursing programs in your area and make a list of all of the common classes that they ask for- those are the classes you should focus on hope this helps!🤗
@simplylillitarot Жыл бұрын
@@KimmyDTV ty! It’s the pre-reqs mostly and the classes they are requiring before that. My local community college doesn’t recognize my bachelors as any transferable credits. I’ll find a way around it for sure!

@KimmyDTV8 ай бұрын
Hey!! Thanks for commenting! I would recommending taking the route that is the least expensive and fastest route for you- my point is, bachelors can be easily obtained online so if you become an RN in the USA, associate degree is recognized!
