Interesting concept. Personally I don’t like the auction process I prefer to by at a fixed price where there are no last minute surprises.

I fully agree with you. The Americans ruined the coin market in the early 70s coming over with their big bucks. They bought almost everything, forcing prices up and up and up. This is why coins now have become well over priced to what they should be. Many coin shops in the UK have gone now, and these auction places have caused all this big run on coins. It's all investments now on coins, and has ruined the coin market. All this slabbing also is a big racket, some of the grading not done properly, and has helped to ruin the coin market.

I agree with you regarding the auctions, but the big problem is authentication and appraisal of a coin that has a higher value. With a wide range of Confusion of London coin companies all having the same name like London coin companies as there are many of them in London? Proof the fact that many people have been killed with the virus.

It's become a big racket now, and is used as an investment, which has ruined numismatics, like we had in the older days.

Auction houses charge a fee ?
@philippayne49518 ай бұрын
They always have. It's now become a big con, and collectors are being fleeced. You get people like numistacker who is an agent for NGC and PCG, who get nice fees for this, and yet he cannot tell a cleaned coin, from one that is not. This slabbing has become a big con for collectors, they have slabbed fakes, thinking they were genuine, over graded some, some people removing the coin from the slab, re- sending it back, and getting a higher grade. So seller gets double the money for coin. Its now a big racket, and a con.

Realities, many of the coin dealers cannot authenticate and appraise a coin. Because of their dishonesty as they live in London, which is not a city but an International criminal organisation. A lot of them claim to be collectors of coins and stamps. Yet they have no knowledge or transferency laws.
